The boys are not going to go out in the cold freezing temperatures when the big game is on TV? But I'm sure the girls will and who will the girls vote for?

Even if the game just depresses male turnout by 10%, it's a huge thing for Hillary.

I think Hillary's going to win the nom. I don't see that not happening. But Iowa - ?

I think she'll win there too. And your post makes as good a prediction as any I've seen.

based on whether the sun shines or it rains that day. It's all about turnout.

Democrats can think about two things at once. Republicans are a different matter. God knows, they may nominate Nebraska for president....

9. Depends on the demographics - caucus goers vs, F'ball fanatics
If there's an overlap, that's good for her. If it's a large overlap, even better. I don't see how it could be bad for her

37. Well I don't think you can necessarily say it's good for her.
What about female football fans? Or male non-football fans? I don't think it'll be good or bad for her, mostly a wash.

12. The Orange Bowl is a secondary game this year
The national championship game will be played in the Sugar Bowl on January 7.

Next season the Orange Bowl will host the title game. At the time, our nominee will be the president-elect.

We know how to record football games out here (hell, we have electricty and running water here )

AND not everyone in Iowa is a football fan :eyes:

Thanks for assuming that a football game will keep Iowans from attending our presidential preference process. :hi:

21. My solemn oath...
I hearby swear that I, as an Iowan male obviously obsessed more with football than the democratic process, will delay my football watching and additional beer drinkin until AFTER we, as Iowans, impose our will and choice on the rest of our nation's Democrats.

I'll also be sure to keep my womenfolk at home, barefoot and in the kitchen with the kids, (where they belong) while the rest of the men and I decide what is best for them!

----

Seriously, where do people come up with this? In my experience, the people who are willing to attend a caucus are not the same people who cancel plans for a (any) football game.

Especially since Iowa will be nowhere NEAR a bowl appearance!

23. Well, if we were to leave in the hands of our Iowa ladies
then the process would be in very good hands indeed. Iowa women are the best. And as far as us watching football, usually if one of our home state schools isn't involved, we don't particularly care. I'm tired of all this Iowa bashing. Once upon a time, I invited all you backwoods hillbillies who hate our great state to come and visit. Cancel that. Stay away and keep up your hate fest. Fucking sexist so and so.

39. The odd thing I've noticed ...
... is that more MEN are supportive of Hillary than WOMEN. The women I've met are more likely to support Edwards or Obama. I really haven't noticed much of a "Hillary's a woman; I'm a woman; ergo I'll support Hillary" sentiment from talking to fellow Iowa voters.

btw, there are quite a few female football fans.
