Spoiled Dubya wants legislation acceptable to him, and he wants it now

Screw everyone else, satisfy ME, ITS MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY!! Who can blame him? He's had it his way all his life, he never had any consequences to pay on ANYTHING!!

And, no the Dems have not helped matters, either out of fear or conspiracy. I am SO sick of the term "The American People" being thrown around by BOTH parties. None of them have any clue what its like to be an average citizen. If they did we would be out of Iraq, have healthcare, a decent wage and affordable college among other things.

I would LOVE to put one of them in my shoes for a month. Trying to pay the mortgage, by food, medicine, etc. They would never make it!! They gave us Social Security recipients a huge(LOL)2.3% raise, WOW. After Medicare payment(3.1% raise)comes out the so-called raise is a joke!!

Anyway that is just my two cents, for what its worth. Which isn't much because I guess I'm not one of the American People they are talking about. But my problem is that I still care about our nation and the world and it makes me sick to my stomach to see what is going on. Obviously, many of them could care less.

President Bush today delivered a broadside against Congress for what he described as inaction on several fronts, urging lawmakers to "stop wasting time" and pass appropriations bills and other legislation acceptable to him.

Specifically, he complained about House passage of a new children's health insurance bill that he vowed to veto for a second time, a tax package under consideration in the House and a water resources bill that he called "fiscally irresponsible." Bush also lamented Congress's failure to send him any of the dozen annual appropriations bills for fiscal 2008, an emergency war-funding bill or legislation to extend an Internet tax moratorium. And he expressed annoyance that his nomination of Michael B. Mukasey to be attorney general has not yet moved out of the Senate Judiciary Committee, "even as members complain about the lack of leadership at the Department of Justice."

Senate Majority Leader Harry M. Reid (D-Nev.) said Bush intends "to continue turning his back on the priorities of the American people: giving police officers the resources they need to protect our communities, ensuring children can see doctors when they are sick, improving education and changing course in Iraq."

While Democrats work to address needs that have been "severely underfunded" by Congress under previous Republican control, Reid said in a statement, Bush "threatens to veto our requests based on the laughable claim that he is fiscally responsible." He called Bush "the biggest-spending president in 40 years."

Reid added, "It is irresponsible for President Bush to ignore these critical priorities as he calls for another $200 billion for his mismanaged wars. The president's reckless spending overseas is cutting short investments right here in America. It is clear that President Bush's priorities are simply not those of the American people."

The equivalent of coming out and stamping his feet every time Congress doesn't do what he wants -- yeah, that's how a leader behaves. He's taking this "bully pulpit" thing a bit too literally, methinks.

working an average 8 hour day 40 hours a week at a mindnumbing job? or if not mindnumbing how about body breaking job like construction? and then having nothing to show for it at the end of the week? how about living pay check to pay check? it will never happen, just like they will never allow us to have universal health care, getting the soldiors out of iraq while their is still oil under the sands.
