Economic Report: Half of All U.S. Workers Combined Get Just 12.8 Percent of Total U.S. Income

http://www.laborradio.org/node/7096

By Doug Cunningham

The share of total income going to workers has dropped since 2000. The Wall Street Journal reports that half of all American workers combined are making just 12.8 percent of all income in the country while the richest one percent are pulling in a whopping 21.2 percent of total income. What does that mean for the median taxpayer? It means your real income after being adjusted for inflation fell two percent between 2000 and 2005. A small boost in incomes lately has not made up for that shortfall.

2. That doesn't sound very efficient
I'm sure if we outsourced even more labor so that half of all US workers got just 6.4% of Total US Income, the millionaires of the mainstream media would be enthralled over the extra corporate profits, the resulting stock market rise, and the 'strong economy' it all represents.

I can just see Maria Bartiromo smiling from ear to ear as she giddily motormouths the glorious wonder of it all.

8. Well, those greedy workers!
They get full crumbs that fall off the table, but are they satisfied? Noooooo! Time to call out the goon squads and bust a few heads so that morale will improve.
