1. That's where you see just how smart he is...
His stump speeches are good, but his town hall meetings are a lot more interesting. That's where you can really see how a candidate can conduct him/herself under pressure and keep the crowd interested.

Great photos!

3. i agree
i thought the same with Kerry. the rallies are ok. but it's the town hall type settings where you really get to know a candidate and where people decide who to get behind.

i always liked Obama better when he talked about issues and answered questions from regular voters. he really listens and thinks about the question before just answering. he also doesn't give rehearsed lines. this is why some criticize him for the way he answers questions, but he comes off as far more real and thoughtful that way.

5. Obama Warns at this townhall today in Reno, "We now hear the drums of war beating again."
Obama Warns of Drums of War

From NBC/NJ’s Aswini Anburajan

RENO, Nev. -- On the heels of President Bush’s reference to World War III with Iran in a press conference yesterday, Obama told the crowd of about 2,000 people here, “We now hear the drums of war beating again.”

Obama placed much of the blame for Bush’s comments on the shoulders of Congress and blasted legislators who voted for the Kyl-Lieberman amendment on Iran saying they are repeating the mistake they made five years ago with the vote to authorize war in Iraq.

“Five years after the original war after the Iraq vote we should have all learned that cowboy diplomacy doesn’t work,” Obama said to a crowd where the line to the room at Grand Hotel and Resort to see him speak wound its way through slot machines and between craps tables, extending the entire length of a casino floor. “The way to support diplomacy is not to support reckless amendments it’s to engage in the tough work of diplomacy.”

Obama called the Iranian amendment “so dangerous” because its language allows Bush and Cheney to justify keeping troops in Iraq as long as they could point to a threat from Iran. He argued that the Iran and Iraq votes were the result of misguided thinking in Washington that allows matters of national security to become a question of “looking tough.”

“This is about how each candidate for president made that decision and how we talk about it,” Obama said. “Will we carefully evaluate the evidence or will we make the decision on polls? Will we have the courage to make the tough choice, or will we make decisions that make us look tough?”

9. Found this. Thought I would Share
Here is some rapid response for you. A friend of mine just called me from the Obama event to Reno, NV. The campaign was forced my law enforcement to turn people away because they were out of room. Standing room only. People still trying to get in. Big huge event.
