Please Write Your Elected Members Of Congress
I understand that the Battlin' Congressional "Democrats" are about to cave on extending warrantless wiretapping. Please send the following letter to your Congressperson and Senators:

Dear xxxx:

Warrantless wiretapping is clearly unconstitutional. You have a duty to uphold the Constitution. If you vote for warrantless wiretapping, I will not vote for you under any circumstance.

3. Honestly, do you really think writing letters
and signing petitions in Bush's Amerika does anything anymore? Hell, I'm not sure voting matters anymore after the last 2 presidential elections. I have only sent 1 email to one of my Senators, who happens to be Hillary Clinton. I received NO reply. Not even one of those banal, generic autoreplies from her office that says, "Sorry-the-senator-can't-possibly-answer-every-email." I mean, hell, I AM a constituent.

5. I understand your skepticism, but when we write them, we do our part for the Constitution.
If they ignore us and trash the Constitution, it's then their fault.

4. Feel free to use my words...
Edited on Tue Oct-09-07 12:42 AM by Eric J in MN
...without referring to me in contacting your Senators about this:

Do not give retroactive immunity to phone companies.

Any company which violated our privacy in an illegal manner should pay damages.

This is about accountablity for breaking the law.

Phone companies have no motive to obey the law in the future if you give them retroactive immunity. We should stop warrantless wiretapping

I am writing you in reference to this article by Glenn Greenwald:
http://www.salon.com/opinion/greenwald/2007/09/22/telecom_immunity/index.html

Once again, please vote against any bill which gives retroactive immunity to phone companies for privacy violations.

Most Senators have email forms at their websites.

7. Ok, but I have a question:
How would I know if they were truly elected or not? I'm just sayin', with the electoral system we have currently, I prefer to call them my "possibly elected" members of Congress.
