Tomorrow I canvass again and dang I hate canvassing, but the colors are nice.
Obama fans you can stop reading now.

Third or fourth time out for Hillary since May and I really hate knocking on doors, bothering people on the weekend and generally doing everything that is counter to my personality and gut shyness.

But they say it is proven to work and I finally believe. I believe because I've had the pleasure of an old man telling me he has every intention to vote for Hillary if God lets him live until January. I've had the extreme pleasure in my very Red town to have 3 confirmed, lifelong Republicans, tell me that Hillary is the only Democrat that may get them to cross over. I've had the fun of one beer drinking, stoop sitter asking me to kindly get the hell off her land.

Most of this part of New Hampshire is Republican or Undecided as we call it up here. The undecideds all wanted us to leave them alone until fall. The common phrase was, "it's only June". So now it's fall and because we all take this so seriously, I know that tomorrow, more people will take the time for real conversation. Some old ladies will invite us in for tea and a repug or two will show us his gun but in a weird friendly way. Almost all will give us a minute of their time and we can ask no more.

Why am I telling this? Because we still need more help. More feet on the street. More smiling faces to pass the word. We have more volunteers than I could ever guess, but most hate canvassing even more than I do. And folks. It may seem like months away to those in other states but this fight is happening right now. Not in November, December or January. Now. And it just so happens this is the best time of year to visit New England.

Come on up to New Hampshire and Fall for Hillary. See the mountains and the incredible colors, then spend a day or two with us local drivers out canvassing or on the tele.

You know what? Even if for some odd reason you support another candidate, this really is a great time to visit NH and I'm sure your campaign would love the help too. Nah, forget I said that. Actually working for your candidate seems like way too much work for most.

9. Well, since you're one of the states that will have more candidates to choose from,
than I will in my state when our primary finally rolls around, I guess it's fitting that you get to do more work. :)

14. Beautiful!
You seem to be a few weeks ahead of us here in upstate NY.

I like canvassing. I have three fractured vertebrae so I won't be doing much until that heals though.
Canvassing gets the most votes, much more than direct mailings or phone banking so it is worth it.

No matter who you're canvassing for, it's good you're out there in the street doing what you think is best. And like you, I hate canvassing too...but it is a necessary part of being in on a campaign.

I hope it went well for you. I'm sure there were some rewarding moments.

22. It went incredibly well
It does feel good when you hit that one person who seems like they've been waiting for us to arrive. Asks for a bumper sticker, what can they do to help etc.

In 3 hours we hit about 4 of those and shocked ourselves. And we got at least a dozen ones.

This is a neighborhood of spread out homes on 2 acre lots.

Big Os here on Tuesday if anyone wants to come say howdy to him.

20. I miss the leaves turning, out here on the coast
Hope you have a good weekend, NewHampster! And that your canvassing goes well. (Thanks for doing it -- no matter which candidate one's working for, I feel that it does help get more people engaged ... there are a surprising number of voters who've never seen people going door-to-door.)
