John Edwards takes on Blackwater and Hillary on the War

According to the AP, John Edwards is calling out Blackwater and Hillary Clinton today.


"We must put the democracy back in our military and prevent a disaster like the continuation of the Iraq War from ever occurring again," Edwards says in remarks provided to The Associated Press. "As commander in chief, I will transfer most security missions currently performed by contractors back to military command, where they belong."

1. "war is policy continued by other means"

It's not enough to simply end the war; it's required that we end the sort of grasping, imperialist, and generally arrogant politics and policy viewpoints that allowed us to rationalize and justify this war. There is and was nothing noble, honest, honorable, or just about either this war, or the policy mindset that engendered it.

That being said, I have rare agreement with John Edwards on this: the Hessians must go.
