This just in: Geller to miss Dean fundraiser

Senate Democratic Leader Steve Geller, who on Wednesday labeled Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina “terrorist, rogue states” for coercing Democratic presidential candidates not to campaign in Florida in advance of its Jan. 29 primary, on Thursday announced he will not be attending a Tallahassee fundraiser held by the head terrorist himself, Democratic chairman Howard Dean.

“He’s welcome in certain, small enclaves of the state,” Geller told the Q. “If you don’t have something nice to say about someone, you shouldn’t say anything at all. Therefore I will not go.”

Dean is scheduled to attend an Oct. 9 fundraiser at the law office of Allan Katz, a Florida Democratic National Committee member who has unsuccessfully tried to persuade the state party to abandon the Jan. 29 primary and schedule a convention or caucuses after Feb. 5.

As long as they keep acting like fools, I intend to point it out.

That would be this Steve Geller who laughed his own amendment off the floor, said the Feb. 5th amendment was only meant to prove to the DNC they tried....but dont vote for it...ha ha.



Geller: "...So the Democratic leader and the Democratic leader pro tem are jointly making this motion, which we will duly show them later, that we tried not to have the election on, um, before (Feb. 5).
President: "And so Sen. Geller are you urging a negative vote or would you like us to pass this vote?"
Geller: "Oh no sir. We really, really want this. Don't we senator? (sarcasm and audible laughter in chamber).

Howard Dean is coming to Tallahassee for a fundraiser October 9, and they are acting all pissy about it. How dare the chairman who bailed the Florida party out to the tune of $200,000 and makes sure they get $350,000 yearly...how dare he come here.

But...that is not enough of the rudeness and pettiness.

Meanwhile, the primary controversy isn't keeping Howard Dean away. He's scheduled to be in Tallahassee Oct. 9 for a $100-per-person fundraiser. (Suggested amount..not required)

Hillsborough Democratic chairman Mike Suarez burst out laughing at that news Tuesday.

"I'm not too sure that he's the best person to be doing fundraising in Florida at the moment," Suarez said of Dean.

This is just embarrassing. But there is more. It is the legislative and congressional leaders who are leading the battle.

I don't know if Karen Thurman, the state chairwoman, is strong enough to stop them from hurting all of us.

2. I am upset over some emails I got this week.

Asking for donations to some local candidates. I said what is their position on the way Florida has blamed the DNC for what they did. And what is your position on the censures of the MoveOn ad by congress.

It was apparently not a good answer to some. There is to be no speaking out here against the state party.

I guess they just don't know me. I see injustice being played out here, and I will post about their petty attitudes.

One person today said oh, please don't blame Karen, it was the legislature and congress people doing it. But I have her emails also.

I also have the emails from DEC chairs saying to withhold funds from the DNC. Further I have mail sent by Florida DNC members who were NOT included in the final decision.

This is about a state putting itself above all others and blaming and insulting the national party and its chairman.
