I'm Watching - As It Happened - On MSNBC - Today Show Telecast Of 9/11/01.....

I watched this live as the events of that morning unfolded - but watching it again today in its entirety I'm seeing it totally differently than I did that day. I'm watching it with the perspective of the years that have passed and the questions that remain unanswered from that day. Listening to the comments by Matt, Katie and Tom. Hearing the report from the Pentagon from Jim Miklaszewski.(sp?)

And the only thing I can say is that I believe that someone at MSNBC is trying to telegraph something to us by showing it this way to us.

I now have more doubts than ever as to what we've been told as to what happened that day vs what I'm again seeing and hearing with the benefit of time and perspective of that day.

Miklaszewski just broke in and said that he heard an explosion that rocked the building (Pentagon). Then suddenly they have a (then)live picture of the Pentagon with smoke billowing out of it - from a distance. I didn't remember that camera angle. Where was that camera positioned? Was that camera on when the so-called plane hit the building? I don't remember this footage being shown since 911. Could they have film footage of what hit the building from that camera?

Then someone was reporting from the White House saying it had been evacuated. Then that same person talked about a 'white' large plane that was flying erratically around the WH. Then he reported it was a government plane. What was this plane? I don't remember hearing about this. What did I miss here?

Then back to the WTC and one sees helicopters flying around the burning twin towers. Do we have film footage from those copters?

Then the first tower collapses and a reporter on the street says that it came down on itself. She didn't quite say 'imploded' but what she said indicated that that is exactly what happened.

All the while Tom Brokaw keeps saying that this is a 'declaration of war' on the US. Over and over he keeps saying this. Almost like he'd been programmed to get this message out to us. Over and over.

I don't know if I'm being paranoid watching this over - but I'm getting a whole different perspective of what happened that day and I'm beginning to believe that what we were seeing and being told was being orchestrated.

Back to current time (today 9/11/07. It's been a bad day IMHO for *Co. The Senate Committee hearings on Iraq today didn't bode well for Petreaus and Crocker. The Repugs even ganged up on them. Again at least MSNBC news accounts - Keith and Dan - that I watched this evening - seemed to be more critical than ever of *Co and the run-up and the aftermath of this so-called war. All of a sudden it seems like the MSM has awaken and are ganging up on *Co.

I might be reading into all this too much - but it appears to me that something different is going on today regarding this whole mess that *Co got us into. It's like America is awakening to what has happened to us since *Co took office and that people are finally getting it.

I'm curious to hear others reactions to this telecast of the Today show from 9/11/01. Have others had the same read on this as I've had today. Just another comment - this is all still playing out. I wish was around a VCR and was able to tape this and play it back slowly. There is just so much that I'm questioning of how they reported the events of that morning and that day.

And I had pretty much the same kind of reaction that you did.

One thing which stood out to me was Brokaw saying "Nobody could have imagined an attack of this magnitude." I'm convinced that's where Condi got the line.

Yeah, their initial reports said that a bomb exploded at the pentagon. It took them a long while to find a plane.

of that day. It is almost surreal watching it over again. I remember being glued to the TV set on that morning. But watching this today - I'm seeing it from a whole different perspective and getting a whole new read as to what happened and what was being said.

I don't know if I should be impressed with Matt, Katie and Tom as they reported the events - because they seem to be reporting it so calmly. I'm thinking of how I was reacting just watching live TV and my reaction was more like the that of the reporter that was reacting to the 'blimp/zeppelin - the Hindenburg' that blew up and burned in 1937 - "Oh the humanity". But Matt, Katie and Tom - just calmly reported what was happening - almost matter of factly - like they were on Valium versus what one would have expected. Perhaps it was just their professionalism showing through and that they didn't want to react too adversely - as to further upset their viewers.

People like that are the reason no questions were asked....just so ho-hum about everything

7. People saw the plane.

There are witnesses who saw it. The security film that we've been seen again and again has too few frames per second. It didn't catch the plane.

There's enough real stuff to wonder about 9/ll like how those buildings were able to collapse so perfectly, why emergency personnel heard bombs going off, etc., what was going on in the towers the weeks prior to 9/ll and so on.

13. That is right. I remember them saying it was a truck bomb

then later when I viewed the pictures at the Defense Dept. web site I saw what appeared to be a large axle in the foreground and no airplane or part there of anywhere. Meanwhile Rumsfield said he was outside looking at the situation and helping in the rescue efforts, he was the person (just days before had been give the responsibility) to call out SAC to intercept. No one has ever explained any of this to my satisfaction. Later when the news was covering the damage, it appear as though a missile had gone throw many layers of the building. What really did happen? Also eye witnesses say they saw a plane it the Pentagon. It has never made any sense to me.

Don't forget, that footage was edited heavily. But something smells, and it smells BAD!

It was a bit of a strange experience to see that footage cut down like that. There were clearly several points where they tried to emphasize specifics...

how many times NBC correspondents reported that their (anonymous, government) sources said the U.S. had not received any warnings that the attacks were coming? Didn't take long for the coverup to begin, did it?

12. A few months ago, at Archive.org I was checking out ABC's total coverage on 9/11

and it was fascinating. Within an hour they already had their terrorism expert who was mentioning that it could have been OBL.
