There's a Media Black Out on the Only Black Candidate. It's Pissing Me Off.
Senator Obama has more individual donors than any other Democrat or Republican running for President.

Senator Obama consistently tops the list in fund raising from a base of truly grass roots supporters.

Senator Obama still draws the biggest crowds of any candidate, be they Democrat or Republican.

Senator Obama, who was right on Iraq when it mattered, continues to speak to truth on issues that many others dodge such as dealing realistically with Cuba and Syria and Iran.

Until Oprah Winfrey held a million dollar event for Senator Obama, there hasn't been any real coverage of his inspiring campaign by the media for months...

Nothing!

In spite of the continued growing number of supporters...

In spite of the millions he continues to raise from small donors all over America...

In spite of the crowds...

There's a black out going on in the media against Senator Obama and it's beginning to piss me off.

Obama, hands down, is the biggest and most inspiring story of the entire presidential race and where is the media?

2. If this is a "blackout", what do you call "coverage"?
I've seen Obama at least as much as any of the other candidates.

3. they are shilling for Hillary. But,
that said, Obama is having a major policy speech wednesday with Zbig with him. If this is not covered I say we need to organize and send out email bombs to the outlets. A list and go at them.
another thing: Oprah is the most powerful person in the media. They do not want to make Oprah mad.
We can always email her as well.
We are not going to let our primary be given away to the corporatist opportunist Hillary.
We can organize and we can fight back.

4. All I hear in the news is about the republican candidates
Neither one of the three top or bottom tier of the democrats ever get any press. The only time they mention Hillary is to bash her. Like the ones here on DU of a certain person's supporters.

7. The top 3 are Hillary, Obama and
Edwards. Elizabeth Edwards complains that John doesn't get the same coverage that Clinton or Obama gets because he is not black or a woman.

9. Obama gets more coverage than any candidate-Dem or Rep--aside from HRC
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 11:58 PM by draft_mario_cuomo
The key difference is Obama's coverage is universally positive while Clinton receives negative press occasionally. I would rather have less press that is positive than more press with a lot of attacks included.

It is odd to see a BO fan complain about the media's treatment of him. If it weren't for the media Obama would be an obscure freshman senator. The media hyped him before he achieved anything. The guy was on the cover of Newsweek the week he entered the senate, for instance!
