What should Dean do if he doesn't win the nomination?
Edited on Tue Feb-17-04 04:08 PM by mot78
If Dean drops out soon, what will he do politically? Will he become DNC chair? Found a think thank or PAC? Will he go back to being a Doctor? Or will he run for the Senate in 2006 if Jeffords retires?

1. I can't help it. WHY do you have to do these things. Why can't you give
people a little time to collect their feelings and deal with their loss? WHY???

2. PAC
He should form a PAC. His grassroots message and ability to raise money would help the Democratic Party. The Senate in 2006 is also a great idea. Dr. Dean needs to stay in politics and be involved in the future of the Democratic Party.

6. I think he'll form a 527
That will be the only way he can keep his hard core supporters from heading back into the political wilderness.

3. Umm, what's the point of asking now, when he HASN'T dropped out?
This seems unneccessarily antagonistic toward Dean supporters.

5. Since you started this thread
Why don't you look into your crystal ball and tell us what he'll do...

Better yet, tell us what Kerry/Edwards/Kucinich/Sharpton are going to do.

And don't forget Graham/Mosely-Braun/Gephardt/Clark as well.

Geez.

7. Why do people keep mentioning Dean as a future DNC chair?
It's obvious from the intent of the Kerronation that there will be absolutely no change in the disasterous direction this party is going.

Does anybody actually think that if McAuliffe and the DLC actually get away with this crime, that Kerry will demand their resignations? If Kerry gave a shit about Democrats acting like Democrats, he would have done so for the last three years himself.

I don't think Howard Dean has a future in a party that went out of its way to treat him far worse than they have treated George fucking Bush Jr. And the same goes for his supporters.

9. Dean ran a third party platform under the radar as a 'democrat'. The DLC
pro-war establishment have NOTHING in common with Dean or his supporters. DNC chair? Ridiculous.

Dean '04...The Anti-Iraqi Wat...Anti-DLC...Anti-Establishment candidate

I like the idea of running for US Senate if one of the other senators retire (Leahy or Jeffords)

But I really think the guy will try again. He's got 10-20 years left of a political career!!

10. when, not if
He should sever all ties to the AMA, for starters. They are worse than 1,000 DLC's. His AMA ties are one the key reasons I never supported him, nor trusted him.

Good riddance.

Dean needs to be invovled in the democratic party in some way. I wouldn't mind him being a senator. Right now I'm mixed at him running again for prez. Will have to wait and see how everything pans out. I do hope he stays involved in a positive way. I hope he doesn't become discouraged over the events of the last 1 and 1/2 and go negative on the party. He's done so much good for the DEMS and for politics in general. His voice and vision needs to be heard in a big way.

edit: spelling
