Dean's media advisor says Dean will support the nominee
Steve McMahon on Crossfire says that Dean will support the Democratic nominee, no matter who it is. So if you Dean supporters out there stay home or go Green you will not be acting in accordance with the wishes of your candidate.

4. He's been saying this for months
And most of us Dean supporters have taken the Democratic Party Loyalty Oath countless times. Don't we have more pressing topics to talk about, like Janet Jackson's tit?

9. I'm an ex-Clark supporter and I've had the loyalty oath forced upon me too
and I have taken it without hesistation. All 10 of these candidates have pledged to support the nominee. Their supporters should follow their lead.

6. Has ANY candidate said anything different??
Kucinich has said the same thing. I don't know if I'll follow my hero or not in the GE. That's MY decision, something Kucinich and Dean both support.

7. Dean has said this several times... Dean has also said he can't speak for
his supporters. His choice to support the nominee is just that, *his* choice.

And his comments about his support being "non-transferrable," for which he was excoriated, was simply an acknowledgement of this.

yeah, we have been saying all along that he'd support the nominee, and the vast majority of us have participated in countless loyalty oaths. Satisfied?

11. And this is news how, exactly?
It was precisely Howard Dean who made and lead the public ABB pledge of the other candidates during a televised debate... In related news: Moon still circling Earth!

the Dean campaign again confirms that Govenor Dean will support the Dem nominee. As will the vast majority of Dean supporters.

17. Yes, McMahon said that
even though there is tension due to the DLC push against Dean. I think that speaks volumes to the integrity of Dean. Dean IS a class act (even if he did call Clark a repub).

18. a less creepy arguement than "acting in accordance"....
we can reform the Democratic party from the outside or from within. As long as the Howard Deans of the world remain relevant leaders within the party, we have a good shot at reform without leaving OUR party. But the disenfranchised voters can't stay relevant if half of us jump ship. Dean staying in will have coattails - his decision precludes a mass exodus from the party - leaving "staying in" as the better strategic choice, IMO.

I've never doubted that he would for a minute. What's the point in seemingly 'calling out' those Dean supporters who may be Green/Independent/other?
