GWB's choice for AG will be.... Jeb Bush!
First step toward the Jeb '08 campaign.
And it'll make the MSM say 'Bush' and 'JFK' in the same sentence...

1. Jeb is an attorney?
Are you sure?

2. You actually don't need to be an attorney to head the DOJ
Although IMHO it would certainly help if you knew that law. Jeb would never get confirmed.

11. Attorney? Why would that matter? Do you suddenly think Bush is looking for someone "qualified"?

3. The chances of that happening are, in a word, zero.

Leaving aside the issue of whether the federal anti-nepotism law (passed after Bobby Kennedy was named AG by JFK) would prevent it, JEB isn't a lawyer. And while being a lawyer may not be a strict legal requirement to be AG, there is absolutely no chance that congress would confirm a non=lawyer to the position and anyone supporting Jeb for the position would be ridiculed.

5. You don't have to a lawyer, so what if the law says 'no', and he's anti-gay
and anti-choice. And, Bush needs someone he can truast who can't testify against him.

8. and in the real world, it won't happen
enjoy your fantasy world. In the real world, the law all impliedly does require the AG to be an attorney (after all, the very title of the job is "attorney" general. The law, dating back to 1789, provides, among other things, that the AG (and the SG) are to conduct and argue suits and appeals in the Supreme Court and suits in the United States Court of Federal Claims or in the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and in the Court of International Trade in which the United States is interested and that when the Attorney General considers it in the interests of the United States, he may personally conduct and argue any case in a court of the United States in which the United States is interested, or he may direct the Solicitor General or any officer of the Department of Justice to do so. It also expressly directs the AG to advise the president on matters of law.

In your fantasy, does the senate confirm Jeb?

7. I can believe this. I would not be shocked if Jeb ended up
running for the WH. I think father said some thing about this many many years ago. He seemed to envy the Kennedy family.

9. Adding a thought---- I think Barbara had a GGgrand father that was
in the WH, or some one in her back ground, and you must recall how mad she was at RR. These people believe they are the elite I think.

13. Oh great. Now when JEBs wife gets caught smuggling again she won't have to pay a fine.
The even-more-corrupt JEB would never be approved by the Senate.
