MSM: "AG Gonzales Resigns in Disgrace. How badly WILL this hurt the Democrats??"
"They've lost their favorite punching bag."

"They've lost one of their applause lines."

"They really beat up on this guy, and there's no evidence of any crime."

"He really took a beating from the Democrats."

Blah blah freakin' blah... :eyes:

1. Don't fret, MSM ...
As far as we Dems are concerned, there's plenty more punching bags where that one came from.

6. And Rove, and Libby ...
Ya gotta give this administration credit for ONE thing: thanks to their many efforts, there will never be a shortage of punching bags, OR punchlines!

9. That's true... Hope it "hurts" us in next year's elections like it did in last year's.
Just like "punching bags" Mark Foley and Duke Cunningham damaged DEMOCRATS.

The MSM really needs a new script.

Low-Income Oakland Renters Are Being Displaced By Hope VI Projects!
Hope VI Project Double-Crosses Oakland Renters

By Lynda Carson October 22, 2006

Oakland CA - A developer's recent glossy sales brochure paints the Coliseum Gardens housing development in East Oakland as being the next best thing, since chocolate milk. Being hailed as the most comprehensive development to date for one of Oakland's largest nonprofit housing developers, an in depth look beyond the hype and propaganda being used to measure the success of the project reveals that only 4 out of the 178 low-income families displaced by the development, actually managed to return to the newly rebuilt housing complex that was recently christened as Lion Creek Crossings.

Documents reveal that as an effort to reduce violence and drug trafficking

11. the "no-crime" talking point is priceless -- is that the standard for the chief law enforcement
officer in the land -- to be unconvicted makes him worthy of the position??

Some standards the GOP/Corp Media is trying to establish.

14. Let's be honest: Gonzales won
He escaped with no criminal charges pending. None even filed. So he left because he wanted to leave. Because he got sick of fighting, maybe. He should have been forced out. But he got to take his own walk on his own time schedule. No cuffs.

Now the GOP will say its time to let go of the investigations. And they have a point. Nothing is going to come from the investigations if Gonzales is gone. If you can't get the guy when he's in town thumbing his nose at you daily, how are you going to get him when he's gone? The Dems in Congress can't even stomp Monica Goodling's ass. Or Sara Taylor. Or Harriet Miers either. On Gonzo's order, they all basically told the whole Congress to fuck off.

So now Gonzo won't have to testify anymore either - exec privilege, or so they will claim.

He will never see the inside of a jail cell. Hard as it is to say it, he friggin won.

15. He didn't win anything, except a free trip home in disgrace.
there may still be charges, and the whole "executive privledge" item is being challenged.

Just because he's out of office means nothing, unless he receives a pardon, he's open to any and all criminal proceedings that may come down the pike.

22. He didn't pardon Libby, just made sure he wouldn't go to jail by
taking out the prison time to be served. He's still guilty, just no time behind bars.

Gonzo might well get a pardon, actually, I'd be kind of surprised if he didn't...:(

19. I believe you're right. A little bad press and a few weeks in the unemployment
line is NOTHING compared to the bounty the neocons and their corporatist colleagues have reaped. All these guys will be heroes in board rooms for years. They've accomplished more than they could have dreamed, I'm sure. Shoot, even jailtime for underlings is small potatoes. We're talking about trillions of dollars.

They probably can't believe they've lasted this long in office without impeachment, revolt, criminal convictions, and daily protest. The second term is all gravy for them...I don't believe they are really worried about anything.

Being fired from your job for embezzlement, corruption, immoral behavior, and basically driving your company into the ditch is the mildest consequence imaginable.
