Giuliani Spent More Time at Yankees Games than at Ground Zero
== Giuliani Spent More Time at Yankees Games

The New York Times looked at Rudy Giuliani's claim to have spent more time at Ground Zero than some of the 9/11 rescue workers and finds he spent "a total of 29 hours in those three months, often for short periods or to visit locations adjacent to the rubble. In that same period, many rescue and recovery workers put in daily 12-hour shifts."

Meanwhile, Salon shows how Giuliani used his time: "By our count, Giuliani spent about 58 hours at Yankees games or flying to them in the 40 days between Sept. 25 and Nov. 4, roughly twice as long as he spent at ground zero in the 60 days between Sept. 17 and Dec. 16. By his own standard, Giuliani was one of the Yankees more than he was one of the rescue workers."==

1. Giuliani is also hated by the firefighters union
contrary to how he always brags about how he was the hero of 9/11.

I would love to see this chump be the republican nominee, all kinds of dirt on him.

2. Rudy is such a douche bag. He should get fried for this issue.
My cousin was one of those workers and has suffered from the ill health effects of breathing that toxic air.

4. That is sad to hear, rinsd
At least the media is starting to report on him now. They have finally got off their knees after 6 years of fellating Ghouliani.

5. Thanks DMC.
My cousin has 2 young children and is a firefighter in VA. He took a month's leave of absence to assist in the recovery of his brethren's bodies.

He has some respitory issues and nearly lost his hearing to a mysterious infection shortly after his time at Ground Zero.

Now this asshole has the fucking temerity to compare himself to those people!

It just makes me so angry to see him put himself in the same zip code as those guys.

7. Wow, that is a very inspiring story
I assumed he was from NYC. This makes what he did even more heroic. :toast:

Ghouliani won't be able to get away with it for long. I think Romney assumes that after Ghoul loses Iowa and NH he will be toast. F. Thompson probably thinks he can get in and steal Ghouliani's thunder, perhaps move straight into the lead when he enters like Clark did in 2003. McCain is too concerned with his campaign right now to care about any other candidate. Oddly, since he leads the national polls, I don't think anyone sees him as a long-term threat at this point. If they ever do begin to see him as a threat I bet they would start questioning his 9-11 record.

6. Priorities.
He had his priorities! Sports over the firefighters. And oh yeah, cheating on his then-wife.

10. Oh PLEASE nominate Rudy, Republicans
That *zhwing, zhwing, zhwing* sound you hear are all the knives and other instruments being sharpened for use on Il Gucci by the Democrats.

Isn't it strange, though, how Al Gore's "lie" (which he never uttered) about inventing the Internet becomes a part of our political folklore and is used as a springboard for all kinds of pontificating on how Gore was a serial liar, who would say anything to get elected, and who couldn't be trusted. Yet Giuliani's on-the-record and often-repeated lie -- which is objectively, verifiably a lie -- doesn't seem to have any impact with the media about Giuliani's credibility, truthfulness, or trustworthiness? Liberal media, my sweet Aunt Fanny.

15. Well that's political gold
Campaign people dream of something like this. A simple way to say something very big that anyone can understand. Awesome. Now they should just show a picture of him at the games with Bernie Kerik to top it off. He's such an a-hole.
