COLUMBUS — — J. Kenneth Blackwell's only son is in a fight for a chance to become a licensed lawyer in Ohio after he twice failed to obey time limits for the state bar exam.

Rahshann Blackwell, 33, of Denver, Colo., argued his case before the Ohio Supreme Court on Tuesday with his father, last year's Republican nominee for governor, watching from the courtroom.

The younger Blackwell says he wants to return to Ohio and is seeking to have his 2005 exam scored and counted.

2. Maybe dad could get a computer that
would fake the results of his exam. He is pretty capable of altering results.

3. If you've been in jail, admit it. Really. They don't necessarily care.
My father went to law school with someone who had been convicted of murder. The guy was admitted to UW after the state bar in question - forget which one it was, I think Michigan - said that they would take him if he graduated and passed the bar exam.

IIRC, the guy made it.

OTOH, cheating on the bar exam and lying on your bar application are good ways to never get admitted.

4. If they give Blackwell's kid
a pass on this on, then I can see lots of lawsuits from other exam takers demanding that they be allowed extra time.

5. I bet he would have passed with flying colors IF
his father was still in office and Taft was still governor.
