23. Well, it's not like they specifically defined the circumstances.
It's airy-fairy abstract, really. Easy to make brave bold statements that way.

2. not A surprise
most people would fight to protect anything they believe strongly about. At the other end of the spectrum are people who would fight to protect freedom.

4. I would fight for food, my personal freedom, and to protect my house
Never a God damn religion, NEVER! That would be the worst thing to fight for IMHO.

17. some are
Have you never heard of someone for whom civil rights is an all-consuming passion. The ones who will actually go to the demonstration and be on the front lines and actually want to be arrested for the cause. I admire these people greatly because they fight and sometimes die for the right of people to practice their civil rights, A cause that is dear to us all. From A psychological point of view there is little difference between the zealot and the freedom fighter, both believe in their cause enough to protect it, with their lives if it comes to that.

15. 1500 years of history
1500 violent years of Western history belie your claim that Christianity prohibits religiously motivated violence.

8. My family fought for theirs.

We're linked to the old IRA, which I guess you can say fought for Catholicism over Protestantism.

Would I though? Well I guess if someone wanted to force me to believe in what they believed. But I think we all would.

Which stems from religious conflict, but that wasn't the entire issue, however.

13. I'd fight for mine - if we were being actively persecuted
I mean, I'm not gonna go blow myself up or something, but if I had to fight for the right to practice my religion, I'd do it - as a matter of fact, it's one of the few things I'd fight for. But I'm not gonna go out on a crusade anytime soon, ya know?

Organized religion is not worth fightin for. If it went away completely that'd be good.

25. Now, that's something
I totally agree with. People having something to believe in is wonderful, but when they started organizing that faith into different groups, thats where it all went wrong. Each group thought they were right and the rest were wrong.

22. Democracy's highest privilege is freedom of thought, freedom of conscience --
without which there is no democracy.

Organized patriarchal religions stand for just the opposite --
most are dictaorships.

A belief system is the end, not the beginning, of all wisdom.
