NEW ORLEANS - Hurricane Katrina victims whose homes and businesses were destroyed when floodwaters breached levees in the 2005 storm cannot recover money from their insurance companies for the damages, a federal appeals court ruled Thursday.

The case could affect thousands of rebuilding residents and business owners in Louisiana. Robert Hartwig, chief economist at the industry-funded Insurance Information Institute in New York, said in June that a ruling against the industry could have cost insurers $1 billion.

7. And CNN, the most trusted name in news will deem this a non-story while being
occupied by the collapsed bridge popcorn seller. Isn't it interesting how quickly the response to this tragedy, with 60+ missing and 5 dead while Katrina only had 700 dead.

11. People in the wealthier, highground districts
They're covered 100% because they had wind damage. The poorer people, in the low lands, nothing. And yet I guarantee all those wealthy people will concoct some story about them being renters or not having insurance or having weak characters or some reason to explain why they didn't come back. This is so sad, sad beyond belief.
