Finally, a measure of payback for the bullshit Texas redistricting!
Edited on Fri Jul-27-07 11:28 PM by Heaven and Earth
Looks like North Carolina is going to divide its electoral college votes according to congressional district winner. That should get whoever the Dem nominee is a few EC votes where we wouldn't have before.

1. I think it's a good idea...
I think more states should adopt this measure...

It's about the only way, short of abolishing the EC, to get a fair representation of the vote...

2. No, no, no, just North Carolina.
In my cold-blooded partisan mode, I do not want this adopted in California or New York.

Before you wish for this to be adopted far and wide, consider the sick gerrymandering done to most districts. We'd need non-partisan redistricting to make it fair.

3. More insentive to take the important state house seats across the
land that determine how those congressional seats are to be drawn....

4. North Carolina change
Have to look to see how it is to be handled. What about candidates from the various other parties? Would this eliminate the need for the state convention for the parties?
