I just wanted to say to Edwards supporters
I am really happy he made his goal. Of course, I support Obama but, there is no reason to be mean to others. I like John Edwards and felt bad he was having a hard time.
I have seen some of the posts on his numbers and was hopeful he would make his goal. Now that he has I am really glad. The man deserves it. And you guys deserve alittle tip of the hat for helping him.
This is what primaries are about and what makes them fun and exciting. Pulling for your candidate and doing what you can to help. Not being mean.
This is a fabulous night for you guys and you should go out and celebate somehow.
I am happy my candidate made his goal as well, but, I knew Edwards was struggling and I was pulling for him.
Congrats guys.

It was good to hear that Obama did well too. Over a quarter million donors is amazing.

7. I don't know but I think it is not the Edwards group bashing
I think it is the ones who support another man..they can't shut up about Hillary bad at this, Hillary bad at that. I have always believed that the more a group of people bash a person the more the public goes for them. So.....keep bashing HIllary and Edwards...more and more people are going their way and dropping their present candidate.

10. Thanks for a refreshing approach to the primaries
I have not made up my mind yet. I think it's because the Dems have so many really good candidates.

But I wish Edwards well!

12. thanks for the positive comments
I like Edwards a lot, but I have not chosen a single candidate from the current crop and probably will not, unless the crop expands. I played the game rooting for Edwards to ring the bell for the same reason as your comments. I like him, I like Elizabeth, and I really want them to be able to feel good about the campaign. What these good people are dealing with with her health is incomprehensible to one who has not had the same situation. To then have the week they had with the vitriol from the adams apple, and to handle it all with such class - well, I just wanted that freaking bell rung! And frankly, the more I hear Edwards, the better I like him.

The sniping and backstabbing among supporters of various dem candidates is, to me, appalling. I look at this as something like the Olympic trials. You root for each athlete from your country to do well; the ones who do best go on to compete with the other countries. If everyone spent all their time in the trials sabotaging athletes then you might have a bunch of kneecapped cripples and not win the Olympics.

I am VERY disappointed every time I hear of the candidates, or their campaigns, taking potshots at the other dems, and will possibly select my candidate by process of elimination, as I decide one by one that they are slimeballs. I hope that is not the way it works out, though.

13. That's the spirit!
Since a real Democrat will vote for our nominee, there should be only best wishes for all of the candidates!
And yes...we can still disagree, without being disagreeable! (disagreeable meaning an attitude close to nasty)
It's the Republics...remember! :kick:

14. IllinoisProgressive - You make me like Obama more with each decent post.
He's still 4th on my list for Pres (Gore, Edwards, Kucinich, Obama), but I'd be very happy to see him take the VP slot!

15. Thanks For The Kind Words... I Like Obama Too... But
got Edwards on my mind. And those who were with us beating the drum, I hope you feel as happy as I do!

I'm sure the Edwards campaign feels re-generated! I posted the last email I got from Bonior at the other OP, but if I don't see it here I'll tag it on to this one!

Gee, I feel GOOD!

17. Last Email I Got From Bonior A Little While Ago...
This OP is the kind of SPIRIT I think Dems are made of. Much better to see the cohesion! Thanks again for your kindness.

Now From Bonior...
WE DID IT!

At 8:51 p.m. a $10 dollar contribution from Janet, of Clayton, Indiana put us over the $9 million dollar mark for the second quarter.

And here's something else incredible: It turns out Janet was the 95,212th person to contribute to the campaign—so we only need 4,788 new donors to hit 100,000 total contributors before the midnight filing deadline!

If you haven't contributed yet—this is your moment. $5. $10. Whatever you can spare. Please keep this momentum going and help us hit the huge milestone of 100,000 donors when the eyes of the country are on us:

www.johnedwards.com/action/contribute/ring-the-bell

(Remember, your online donation will still beat the deadline if it comes in before midnight in your local time zone.)

Thanks to you, we now know this campaign will enter the next phase with the resources to compete. No matter what they throw at us, John Edwards' message of substance will break through to voters in Iowa, New Hampshire, and key states all over the country—and that's all we need to win.

This achievement belongs to everyone who believed. It belongs to those who believed that civility and courage could overcome fear and hate, to those who believed in standing up for what was right, and to those who believed that small change from Americans adds up to big change for America.

So in the few hours and minutes remaining, let's hit that 100,000 contributors mark and take another giant step towards the one America that we all believe—that we all know—we can build together.

Edwards ranks a very close second in my book. And who knows, I just might vote for him at caucus time!

EDIT: Clarification

We get fixated on the differences and the rancor often sticks in our various craws, but we're all pulling for essentially the same thing: a fair and decent life for all.

27. Cheers To You!
I was volunteering for Edwards at the NALEO (National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials) in Orlando yesterday. There were a LOT of us. There were a lot of Obama supporters too. Both of these gentleman generated a great deal of enthusiasm. Sadly, because Obama has to be under Secret Service protection, he did not have as much of an opportunity to interact with his supporters as Edwards did.

for your congratulations and good wishes! And congratulations to you all, and the Obama campaign, for breaking the fundraising record.

I support John Edwards, but would have no trouble voting for Obama. (Of course, I'll vote for whoever wins the Dem primary in the general)
