Nader hit the nail on the head...Obama is homogenizing
Chris Matthews asked what Nader thought of Obama after he called Clinton a corporate Democrat...and whether he thinks of Obama as a sell-out. Nader said he wouldn't go that far, but that his problem is that he's not standing up for something and separating himself from the pack and that he's homogenizing. He said a lot of people think his speech last year at Take Back America was better than the one this year and it shows. I support Obama, but I have to agree with Nader. Obama needs to pick an issue and drum the hell out of it.

2. Someone still needs to pick-up alternative energy as their cornerstone issue.
Single-payer healthcare is out there and waiting as well.

5. Nobody is gonna stand up for single-payer unless they change their healthcare plans
which is unlikely.

30. It will likely be one of the cornerstone issues of any Democrat
but unless Gore enters, it is likely that none of the possible candidates has a long term track record on this issue. (Dodd is perhaps the closest) It is ironic that just as this issue gets more attention, we will likely have the nominee without that track record - unlike the last 2 nominees, who had 30 plus year records. Unless, of course Gore enters.

3. Excuse me if I don't agree with Nader on anything.
If he was really serious about a third party in the US, he'd be working night and day for it — not just standing up at the start of a presidential election to grab a few extra minutes of fame.

And he once had such a great legacy.

16. he times this so he can collect money
he lives off his donations, and he gets millions from starry-eyed idealists and PACs hoping he'll muck up things on the Democratic side.

It's pretty transparent, but he's allowed to pimp the system. Anyone can do it.

First, attack General Motors...

8. Nader's an attention seeker, but he may be right about this...
Obama continues to steer clear of specifics, making broad feel-good statements that are beginning to wear thin even for me ~ and I've been enthusiastically watching him since that first wonderful speech.

He's been against the war from the beginning, which is more than most of them can say. So was I. It was lonely back then, but what's right is right.

12. It is June people
Everyone seems to think that the candidates should lay out a plan!

Come on, what is the Repub candidates plan? Torture! Pardon Libby!

Yet the push is to put out detailed plan 7+ months before the first Primary?

Someone explain to me the upside to that? I can give you the downside.

FAUX News slams the plan nightly.

Hannity, O'Really, Bortz, et. al. slam the plan daily

Talking points are created to diminish the plan.

Chris Matthews, Bow Tie Weenie, and the others start criticizing the plan.

ABC, CBS, NBC reporters start picking up the talking points.

The candidate spends his or her time defending the plan.

HRC and Obama should not put out any details for months, if ever.

How many election cycles are we going to go through with the candidates providing out detail that the average voter doesn't pay any attention to, but the talking heads pick up the negative talking points.

19. Ralphie, please go home now.Obama's appeal is continuing to cut across lines. Is that a bad thing?
"Homogenizing." pfft.

Ralph Nader has become a mean-spirited caricature of his former crusading self. His attitude for a long time has been that if he can't have the prom queen (i.e. the White House) then no one can, and he'll do something really unpleasant to make sure of it.

Hekate

22. Nader is irritating but he's irritating in a very good way
He's not tied in to the corporate structure in any way so he tends to speak the truth BOLDLY. Honestly, every single Dem and Repub is tied to the endless money driven corporate election cycle. The things Nader and people like Amy Goodman talk about, most Dems are afraid to touch. We need to see some boldness in ideas and a direct attack on the corporate hegemony on our politics.

27. ((((((( NADER SUCKS ))))))

Who cares what that idiot says???

Does anyone believe him anymore?!?!

What an arrogant PIG to say that if not for him, Gore wouldn't have started to lean further left; thereby winning him more, not less votes.

He is truly INSANE.

Did you listen to him on Hardball today Bullet1987?

Did you like the way he referred to the Democratic Party as the "Democrat Party"???

How about dissing Democrats for taking corporate money ....

When he himself took MAJOR money from Republicans???

He is a LIAR and if you listen and believe him, I feel for you.
