The 2008 primary elections are still a long way off, but if you were to vote in the Democratic primary election and the
candidates were the ones listed below -- for whom would you vote?

29 Barack Obama
26 John Edwards
17 Hillary Clinton
9 Bill Richardson
8 Al Gore (write in)
5 Dennis Kucinich
1 Chris Dodd
1 Joe Biden
1 Mike Gravel

And who would be your SECOND choice in the Democratic primary election?

30 Barack Obama
28 John Edwards
16 Hillary Clinton
11 Bill Richardson
6 Al Gore (write in)
2 Dennis Kucinich
2 Chris Dodd
2 Joe Biden
1 Mike Gravel

More results at the link, including breakdown for age and gender:
*Hillary derives much of her support from women.
*Obama is wildly popular in the 18-29 range, but Edwards is more popular among the 30-39 and 40-49 ranges, and edges Obama in those over 50.
*Moderates are for Obama and Clinton; progressives are for Obama and Edwards.
*Edwards leads among voters initially choosing Obama; likewise, Obama is clear choice of voters initially choosing Edwards.
*Initial Clinton supporters choose Obama as their second choice.
*Obama most favored among those voting beyond "the big three."
*The war and health care lead concerns among CAF attendees
*Obama/Edwards entice listeners to vote for them
*Richardson made an impact on crowd
*A progressive crowd (83 liberal/progressive, 15 moderate, 3 conservative)

And another 6 percent wrote him in as their second choice. That is solid.

4. TBM skewed young, didn't it?
Obama/Hillary may be a generational scrap as much as anything.

5. I was there
and to me there were all ages and pretty equally divided. The only time I saw many young people (Clinton DC'ers} was because Clinton bussed them in from DC, I watched them come and leave immediately following her speech. They stuck out like sore thumbs.

7. I visited DC once when I was in my 20's
and hung out with some hill rats.

Bizarre.

6. Many did not vote in that straw poll
because of being sponsored by Politico. To me it doesn't mean a thing, I did not vote in it and others with me didn't either.

9. agree
Doen't mean much.

Based upon the generational gap between Clinton and Obama, do you believe that the same gap exists between Obama and all of the other candidates? Or is it somehow emphasized with Hillary?

8. Gee, what did you expect, this is
kinda like the poll at dailykos. Means jackchit as this poll does. I would like for you to concentrate more on the state by state polls and see what candidate is out front.....
I support HRC....
