Remember when Drudge reported on Clinton's illegitimate black son?
http://jdlasica.com/articles/drudge.html

The following dispatches from the Drudge Report are being reprinted under the fair use doctrine for educational purposes in cooperation with the Annenberg School at the University of Southern California.

WHITE HOUSE DNA CHASE: TEEN DOING 'WELL' AFTER NEWS OF 'NO MATCH'

**Exclusive**

He had been told all of his life by his mother that Bill Clinton was his father, but late this week, 13-year old Danny Williams of Arkansas learned the truth: He is not.

A stunning DNA showdown came to a dramatic conclusion this weekend when it was learned that STAR magazine was in posession of lab results -- results that ruled out Bill Clinton as the father!

The DRUDGE REPORT was first to reveal the DNA chase that captured the attention of official Washington in a series of exclusive reports. snip

A picture of young Danny was legend on the Internet, even becoming a source of questioning at a White House press briefing earlier this week.

"The picture on the Internet he looks exactly like the President," declared a reporter at the White House.

Press secretary Lockhart: "That's good. And I'm an alien space baby."

more

After this how can anyone be stupid enough to believe anything Drudge says without verification? And why doesn't the media report anything about this "great scoop" by Drudge I wonder?

Don

2. Desperation leads people to do dumb things.
When all of the old tricks aren't working, it's often easier to jump on a rumor like this and to declare it fact than to discuss something of substance. The overreaction to this story has been quite astonishing.

It wouldn't suprise me if some of the people declaring Kerry's guilt in this with no evidence whatsoever are the same people putting forth theories that S&B requires Kerry to throw the race to Bush. Yep, it's a secret society, but Kerry opponents seem to have the inside scoop on its agenda. Hmmm....

They're looking for anything to use against Kerry, regardless of the accuracy, the ridiculousness, or the source.

13. Maybe.
Yeah, perhaps that's appropriate from a knee-jerk reaction kind of perspective (meaning that the response to Drudge is knee-jerk.)

I was just about to follow that by saying that I would hope people would have more control over their reactions than a purely autonomous response, but as I thought about it, I realized that it's pretty obvious that the opposite is true!

:)

10. Of course he broke that story.
He was best buds with Lucianne, who helped Tripp set up Bill and Monica. Did you think they would give the story to Dan Rather ?

16. So, My Friend
Is it your intention now to do all in your power to spread rightist innuendoes against the leading candidate for the Democratic Party's Presidential nomination?

Could you please explain to me how this will assist in evicting from office the criminals of the '00 Coup? My mind is a simple one, and cannot follow the subtleties by which this brings benefit to us....

"LET'S GO GET THOSE BUSH BASTARDS!"

17. You give him too much credit. Monicagate was handed to him
Edited on Sat Feb-14-04 01:44 PM by Kerryfan
by the people who set up Monica and Bill. Lucianne and Linda Tripp. And I think the National Inquirer broke Rushgate. Sometimes he does get it right, but often he is wrong.

I don't think we have to worry about this, KFC. It may turn out to help us in the long run.

ADD We already have that she is blond, she is brunette, she is married, she has a fiance, Kerry spirited her off to Africa, she is on assignment in Kenya, and don't get me started on her parent's quotes. A real pair, if the quotes are accurate, which I doubt.
