The Right Wing Will Squawk Against Executive Authority As Soon As A Dem Is Elected
And I'm looking forward to the opportunity for that national discussion.

A time to reinforce the necessity of checks and balances and what a damned disastrous path the previous administration led this country down by a collective ring in it's nose.

I'm sure the media will try to lead the way. But I know we'll remind them in our alternative venues how they were a huge part of the problem.

2. Gosh, ya think?
In a perverse way I wish HClinton had come out in favor of the warrantless wiretaps, for exapmle, adding that she had big plans for them. Possibly that would have made the Publicans think twice.

9. Okay, okay, I know I'm not a deep thinker
So read my reply - posting #7.

And about your perverse imagination with Clinton voicing big thoughts 'n plans for wire tapping? All I can say is :wtf: :spank:

11. I just meant that maybe it would help Publicans see what a bad idea
it is for a president to run amok in suck a fashion, that maybe if they could imagine a president they didn't like do what Shrub does, they'd see why it's a bad thing. Granted, their imaginations tend to be limited. But you have to start somewhere.

4. You're right, but I'm afraid the Dems won't fight back!
Look at the crap the Pubs pulled in Congress for 10 f-ing years! Wouldn't bring any Dem bills to the floor, didn't allow ammendments, threatened the nuke option...... So what happens when they lose control? They cry and whine about how unfairly they are being treated, and THE DEMS GIVE IN!!!!!!

5. I think we sometimes forget that Executive authority is limited
only by congress. Bush had it all with a Republican majority in the Senate and in the House. He now also has a majority in the Supreme court. Bill Clinton could only veto which he did with care. The next Democratic president needs a majority to get anything done. The president cannot pass laws or start a war with out help. Unfortunately the Democrats in Congress helped Bush just like they helped Reagan when he screwed up. Do you think that the Republicans are dumb enough to help a Democratic President?

7. I'm just now readng a bio of George Washington
Even back then there was Hamilton powerful and pushing for a supreme executive. So, it got me to thinking about '08 and wondered how soon the wailing and crying would begin from the right wing. I imagine it will be no later than the day after the the Dem wins the election.

8. "...Republicans are dumb enough to help a Democratic President?"
Dumb enough or smart enough? I have my doubts about their being smart enough to help.
