It seems like only yesterday when we were bemoaning the terrible non-Hollywood crop of not-that-tall Republican front-runners Rudy, Walnuts and L. Ron Romney. When, oh when would giant right-wing dreamboat Fred Thompson and his latest wife join the race?

According to BREAKING NEWS, the star of cop shows and old-people radio will join the race in exactly … five weeks.

-snipped-

# The campaign’s COO will be Thomas J. Collamore, who in the past has successfully marketed such awful products as Philip Morris cigarettes and George H.W. Bush.

# The handlers must deal with several negatives: Thompson is notoriously lazy, has cancer and looks like a cartoon bear.

5. I should add that Paul Harvey is not only older than God, but 100 times more
conservative.

4. With the younger, much younger, wife. Who likes revealing clothing.
That should make the fundie crowd sit up and take notice.

(I believe that secretly the fundie women would kill to dress like that and the fundie men would love to trade in their wives for one like her.)

9. I first saw him as an all-around asshole boss on "Roseanne" in the late '80s,
and he was at least very believable in that role.

But I still wonder if America is ready to elect someone who looks like he was separated at birth from this guy:

11. Maybe he can act Presidential like Reagan did. That might be
all it takes to make many of them happy.
