Bird craps on W in Rose Garden right after he affirms his confidence in Gonzo!
An outdoor news conference in perfect spring weather, with birds chirping loudly in the magnolia trees, is not without its hazards.

As President Bush took a question Thursday in the White House Rose Garden about scandals involving his Attorney General, he remarked, "I've got confidence in Al Gonzales doin' the job."

Simultaneously, a sparrow flew overhead and left a splash on the President's sleeve, which Bush tried several times to wipe off.

Deputy White House Press Secretary promptly put the incident through the proper spin cycle, telling ABC News, "It was his lucky day...everyone knows that's a sign of good luck."

10. Several years ago I was in a tree-stand
trying my luck against the local whitetail population. It was very cold and I was very miserable. As I sat there up in that tree a flock of cedar waxwings appeared in the branches all around me. Twittering and bouncing from branch to branch. As I took in the spectacle of these little busy birds, the sun broke over the ridge bathing me in it's warmth and light. I was beginning to think how fortunate I was to be in that tree, at that moment, closer to my creator than I had realized. All of a sudden a waxwing crapped right on my head. So much for delusions of righteous grandeur. Perhaps God was sending little pissy pants the same message.
