Well, congratulations, DLC! you're gotten us exactly where you wanted us.
with the dem leadership on their knees, toothless, pointless and irrelevant.

1. Agreed and Well Said.
It's going to be very tough to vote in 2008.

2. They have less than they think... this fiasco of war funding legislation
just caused the antiwar left to do an "About Face." The DLC is about to watch its prospects for 2008 electoral victory march over the horizon.

6. Yep. They take for granted our "loyalty." It's time to resolve to punish them for that
For years DU has been populated with posts calling for unwaivering support. Right or wrong "our" Dems deserved support. Because "winning was everything." "We couldn't do anything unless we elected Dems. "A bad Dem was better than any Republican."

Well. We gave the DCDems our votes, they won, and now they won't step forward and honor our support by pushing for the single most important outcome we sought. About 66% of Americans want that fight. There is no reason not to fight, the people will support the fight.

And so we, the mass that could be People Power, must sustain our disdain and bring the servants of the people to heel. No one would keep a dog in the house that jumped on the table and pushed supper to the floor. We shouldn't keep the DCDems in the House or the Senate where they do the same with our trust.

As the Congress Critters arrive at home for the Memorial Day recess, they should be shown the back gate and left chained to the dog house. As the primary candidates appear at this weekend's celebration they must be shown that the days of the people's tolerance are very near an end.

4. If anything this may just decide the primary for us
My guess is that out of Hilary and Obama, one will vote for it, the other against. Whichever votes against, will win the primary. That is notwithstanding the Rovian tactics of the DLC.

7. DLC Democrats are perfectly happy to be voted out of power
as long as the cash keeps rolling in.

8. and if Hillary Wins
the DLC will be rejuvenated and everything we progressives worked for will be lost.

The DLC HATES the base, especially activists. I've never seen so much contempt for the hand that feeds you from DLC leaders Al From and Bruce Reed. It's all about obsessively pandering to the mythical "middle" and trashing the base even though the most successful politicians capture the full support of their base and drag the middle to their side--see Ronald Reagan who turned a huge chunk of the country conservative.
