Chelsea Clinton, Bright, Poised and Grounded...
www.pbpost.com

Wonderful article by the AP today on Chelsea Clinton. I cannot believe she is 27 years old. One of the lines said "The once and possibly future 'first kid' has not yet taken an active role in her mother's campaign." The article points out that Chelsea could return to the White House in a very different role, as an occasional visitor or perhaps even a bride at a WH wedding. Went on about her great job and great boyfriend. She is described as an exceptionally bright and grounded young woman who will decide for herself what role to play in her mother's campaign. It pointed out that Chelsea is such a poised young lady in her own right, if anyone has the maturity to deal with the situation, it's her.

On another interesting note Jose Lambiet's column today in the Palm Beach Post, it is reported that Mark Foley is baaaaaaaack, looking tanned, fit and wrinkle-free. His friend and partner is a noted Palm Beach plastic surgeon. Foley sold his Capitol Hill house and made a cool $600K. The last sentence of the article states that people "were shocked to see that Foley looks younger and better than ever these days, emotional scars be damned, while his partner seems physically drained.

17. Very attractive and well mannered young lady!
I'm sure the Clintons are thrilled at how well Chelsea turned out. Makes all the difference in the world when you have both parents committed to raising their child unspoiled, earthy and approachable. Best wishes to Chelsea in all her endeavors and if she choses, a role in her Mom's campaign. (children's museums, children's hospitals, environmental activities..)

3. I met Chelsea in 2004
she was out campaigning (quietly) here in Florida for John Kerry in the week before the Nov. 2004 election. She was with Caroline Kennedy, Vanessa Kerry, Cate Edwards, and Karenna Gore Schiff. She gave a 2-minute speech (as did the others) and said it was her first campaign speech ever. She was very sweet, very down to earth, and really seemed to enjoy chatting with people. I wouldn't be at all surprised her out on the campaign trail for her mom.

5. Every one of those young women
speaks well for those who raised them, and the future of our party.

Class acts, all of them.

And the twins? :puke:

Jenna and the other one don't behave with any class or beauty.

My mother always said, pretty is as pretty does.

13. Well, maybe on the outside. MAYBE.
At the moment, from what we know of her, that's about as deep as it goes. Time will tell, I suppose. Souls CAN be saved.

7. Why isn't she in the military together with the Bush and Cheney offspring?
Edited on Sun May-13-07 05:18 PM by IndianaGreen
The children of those that supported this war, as well as the children of those that can't bring themselves to ending the war by just not funding it, should be in Iraq in place of the children of the working class that have been asked to sacrifice so much for the economic interests of a few.

This article highlights the great chasm that separates the haves from the have nots in our country. We might as well be discussing the Romanovs and the rest of the parasitic class they represented!

30. doncha know
IG supports Edwards - the same guy who rallied for war so convincingly his OpEd was posted on the State Department's website - and has to lob snark bombs as subterfuge for that teensy bit of hypocrisy.

37. Hey,why not?
There's a couple threads floating around about Romney's kids not being there.

As a matter of fact, for fairness, everyone with children old enough to serve who voted for the war should make sure their kids are on the front lines.Maybe if Chelsea were there Clinton might actually give a fuck about ending it.

16. Walter Schieb
He was the White House Chef during the Clinton years - Hillary hired him - and until the beginning of 2005. Anyway, he has a book out about his time at the White House and he has nothing but nice things to say about Chelsea. In fact, he said the summer before she left for Stanford, she asked him to teach her how to cook since she never had to do it for herself and she wanted to be able to do her own meals at college.

26. if/when she ever decides to talk about her life
i would be very interested in hearing what she has to say. especially the white house years and the nastiness from the Republicans against her (when she was just a kid) . after all the crap she took, look at how well she turned. one area nobody can question Bill and Hillary on is their parenting.

and then we have Bush's kids who are criminals and did a lot of horrible things and the Republicans who were vile towards Chelsea try to excuse their behavior. typical right wing family that gets by on their name and wealth.
