Cheney overheard in Iraq: ‘Kick the press out.’

“Once safely ensconced in Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone, however, Cheney appeared to reserve his toughest language for his normal target — the press. Cheney held a lot of photo ops with key Iraqi leaders like Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, but was adamant about not taking questions. At one point, Cheney emphasized to the assembled journalists that ‘this is just a photo spray.’ Later in the day, as reporters filed into an embassy conference room for another photo of Cheney they overheard him tell his staff ‘then we kick the press out.’”

UPDATE: From a pool report: “Around 5:20 p.m. (local) there was a distant explosion that rattled windows at the building where the VP and the press corps are working today.”

1. The regime has used the press to get what it wants
They no longer need them. The press helped them gain power and start a war while stealing the civil liberties of millions. The press is starting to wake from it's stupor and reporting some of the crimes of the bu$h regime.
Cheney no longer wants them around and could care less if they are killed.

2. CNN continues to report "The Explosions heard" shortly after Cheney's arrival.
I wonder if we'll ever know. I know Cheney is safe. :eyes:

I am concerned if any of our military or civilians were hurt.
