Post Debate CNN Poll: Clinton Gets Significant Boost
Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-New York, has increased her lead over the Democratic field in the race for the presidential nomination, according to a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll released Monday afternoon.

In the past month, Clinton's support among Democrats rose to 38 percent from 30 percent, while support for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, dropped by two percentage points to 24 percent, according to the poll taken this past weekend. Former Vice President Al Gore continues to draw strong support even though he has not announced plans to seek his party's nomination. Gore and former Sen. John Edwards, D-North Carolina, each received 12 percent.

1. As expected.
However, now that Obama is starting to talk about specifics, I expect him to sharpen his attack and to come out swinging on June 3rd.

3. Putting Gore in that poll muddies the picture.
He's not an announced candidate, and his 12% voters are not likely to stay home.

6. Hillary up 8 makes sense, but Obama down 2?
I thought they both did extremely well. If Gore announces, there might be a three way tie for the lead as he'll get more of Hillary's share than Obama. Edwards looks like he has a firm hold on his base of 10-12%.

14. Edwards has a firm hold on his base, but doesn't seem to be expanding it.
Given that he was the first to enter the race, I would guess that may be a cause for some concern for him. Just my guess.

8. I hope Gore runs; however, I hope he does not wait too long if he does
since the moveup of so many primaries is getting the election off to an early heyday. Hillary is brilliant just like Bill. I am sure the others are equally top drawer. Any of our candidates will be amazing after 8 years of doofus.

13. Impressive.
I haven't decided who I am going to support. I think Obama and Edwards are treading water right now, and a lot of voters who perhaps were looking at Edwards or Obama have looked and gone back to Clinton.

Clinton is a known quantity. I don't think enough votes trust or know Obama or Edwards enough yet for either of them to overcome her current dominance in the race. Just my 2 cents, of course.
