Poor, lonely John McCain
Watching his 'announcement' in Portsmouth, NH.

Weak and very quiet applause.

Hard to tell on teevee, but it appears there may be .... oh .... 30 .... 40 people there.

His speech delivery is on a par with his Huggy Bear Buddy, Little Georgie.

Go home, John ...... your day's long past.

1. Ya know, next time I play poker, I'm inviting John
Because he's TERRIBLE at gambling. He put everything on whoring for Bush, and it's come back to haunt him.

I'm sure he's putting money on the Washington Generals to win against the Globetrotters as we speak. He is so, so clueless.

2. Will his media friends pull the camera back so we can see how paltry his audience it?
Nah! They'll protect whatever is left of his tattered image.

6. It looked as if they left the zoom lens home
One steady close up shot ...... even C-Span shows more camera motion

3. Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

:nopity:

I guess someone should explain to John that when you try to play both sides, you almost always end up alone. He should know better than to claim to be a straight-shooting moderate while pandering to Falwell's rabid right-wing theocrats.

I almost hope he gets the GOP nomination, he would get trounced by whoever the Dem ends up being. Good riddance.

:)

10. In that case I hope the "media" watches the tape from
his appearance on TDS last night. Jon handed him his ass in the nicest possible way while doing the media's job.

16. The media need to be reminded of his true character
He said this about a young Chelsea Clinton:
"Do you know why Chelsea Clinton is so ugly? Because Janet Reno is her father."

11. What got me ...
What got me on the Daily Show was McCain's insistence that he has been a critic of the conduct of the war. But, when did McCain ever take Bush to task publicly about his mismanagement.

He doesn't support the mismanagement, but he supports the mis-manager (as evidenced by the pictures above).

If McCain thought the war was poorly managed why didn't he support Kerry?

17. I forgot to mention ...

I forgot the mention the deafening roar of silence from his Armed Services Committee pursuant to investigating:

a) The mismanagement of the war.
b) The squandering of resources allocated to the troops.
c) The criminal mistreatment of soldiers by contractors.
d) The criminal mistreatment of soldiers by the VA.
e) etc...

John McCain had every opportunity to run hearings to force the President and the administration to do the right thing. John's response ... DO NOTHING!!!

13. He looks and sounds like an old man...
And the way he was pounding on the podium looked like a little kid trying to get attention. Pathetic. He claimed he knows who he is. Too bad he's someone who sold his soul when he let Bush smear his family and then kissed his butt just to be able to kiss his base. There looked to be more people there than the applause made it sound like. Not very enthusiastic if you ask me.

18. His voice sounded off somehow.
Maybe it was my reception, but it didn't sound like his usual voice.

I can't stand him... sold his soul is exactly right, but I think it was very early in his career when it happened.
