Clinton names Adams to direct SC campaign

COLUMBIA, SC (AP) - A woman who helped run Howard Dean's presidential run in South Carolina will lead Hillary Clinton's White House bid in the Palmetto State.

The New York senator announced Monday that Kelly Adams was named South Carolina state director. She will oversee the campaign's daily operations.

Clinton says Kelly is a talented organizer with deep roots in the Palmetto State.

Adams had served as director of the South Carolina House Democratic Caucus, where she helped set the group's legislative agenda. She also assisted in fundraising and recruiting candidates.
