If the Kerry-intern rumors are false, what then?
Who is held accountable?

I hope Kerry sues Drudge for every penny the guy has and forces him to reveal every one of his so called "sources." If the sources are legit, Kerry should go after them!

He should get John Edwards to take the case.

3. What do you mean IF?
But this whole issue did meet their purpose.

It kept us from spreading the message of the growing AWOL story.

It wasted server space and wasted alot of people's time.

On DU - they win one tonight, the Dems lost.

6. I totally agree
This is taking away from the AWOL story. It's total media manipulation and the Kerry haters are biting.

4. If they're false...

Then Kerry and the Dems should make Drudge's reporting the joke of the campaign. Make him a laughingstock (moreso than he is already).

5. Per Lawsuit Idea: Drudge doesn't deserve any more publicity
but I wish he'd drop off the face of the earth.

7. Nah, let it drop. It's just a distraction
Kerry needs to keep his eye on the prize. He's smart enough to diffuse this and not take the bait. He's been through campaigns before.

8. Like many other false rumors
Rove and company will continue to repeat it, ensuring that a segment of the population believes it regardless.

11. Kerry should of come clean before this
jargon got prime-time attention. He saw what happened to Clinton and other Congressionals......He was aware of the *bush game plan.....

Kerry needs to take responsibility.

14. Take responsibility for false rumors?
Not unless he spread them, which I seriously doubt.

September 2, 1998 Wednesday FIRST EDITION

SECTION: NEWS; Pg. 008

LENGTH: 811 words

HEADLINE: Inside Track; Job seeker is model constituent

BYLINE: By GAYLE FEE & LAURA RAPOSA

BODY:
Question of the day: Who was the statuesque blonde strutting out of Sen. John Kerry's palatial Louisburg Square manse late Monday night when Kerry's wife, heiress Teresa Heinz, was on Nantucket?

We are told she is (name omitted) a 22-year-old Harvard student and former model who, Kerry's people claim, was dropping off a resume.

Our spies on the Square say the stunning Southern gal, dressed in oh-so-chic black, arrived at Kerry's townhouse around 11:15 p.m. and left just before the clock struck 12.

<snip>

Which leads us to ask: In the age of Monica Lewinsky, is it smart for a senator with presidential aspirations to be entertaining attractive women when the wife is away?

"He was very kind to me. He offered to pass my resume along," told the Track.
