Will TV journalists start calling the pukes on this damn talking point "The Democrats voted for it"

I am watching Bill Maher right now and one of the 2 conservative liars on the panel repeats that God Awful Malicious Manipulating diversion of "Well the Democrats voted for the war" BULLSHIT and NO ONE CALLED THEM ON IT! NO ONE SAID "THEY VOTED FOR THE WAR BECAUSE THEY BELIEVED THE FUCKING LIES THAT THIS ADMINISTRATION FED THEM ABOUT WMD!!!

Not one Democrat would have voted for this war if they knew the truth and that is the truth! I can't say the same about Republicans because most of them still want this war even after the reasons for going in has changed with every season since the war started. They don't give a shit that the reason we went in was a lie, (or a mistake it you want to give them that benefit) they want to stay there for whateverthefuck irresponsible reason they can think up.

If you don't want to use the word "LIE" than just say it was faulty intelligence please!!!

Every time a right wing talking head says that and it is not debunked we lose credibility that we deserve.

PLEASE STOP LETTING THEM BULLSHIT THE COUNTRY WHILE YOU SIT BACK AND DON'T RETURN THE EXPLANATION THAT THEY DESERVE.

they voted for military force as a last resort. bush broke his promise and betrayed congress and the american public. he wanted to go to war before he was pres.

2. we lost that spin war
I think there's no point in continuing to try to get it right. Probably better to say 'yeah, some Democrats voted for war lies and now admit their mistakes. Republicans still won't even face the fact that they were lied to.'

The Democrats who voted no will not let go of that political advantage, rightly or wrongly. And despite the fact that they could have easily been completely wrong.

3. Why can't TV and other journalists keep up the truth? Maybe the politicians
Edited on Sat Apr-21-07 01:40 AM by Maraya1969
want to stay away, (personally I wouldn't and I don't really understand it), but people like Bill Maher should be correcting these liars when they catch them.

And it is now spin to point out a lie. It is the truth! Why would anyone let a lie go by without correcting it. If it is ever brought up to me I certainly remind people where the "intelligence" came from.

4. Maher agrees that Dems voted for the war
That meme came from the left. I've posted Bush saying he had no plans for war and all this war talk was just a bunch of saber rattling, he was going to work for a peaceful solution. Doesn't matter. The left "knew" and that's that. We really needed to remind people of what Bush said in 2002, what the mood of the country was at the time, really need to explode that myth that the country was ready to go to war in fall 2002. At that time, people like Hillary, Biden and even Edwards, insisted we stick beside that war vote and Lieberman and some others actually DID vote to go to war. So it's really a muddied up mess and I just don't think it can be undone.

5. Bull crap they didn't believe anything from Bush*, they believed America wanted it.
They believed they would be thrown out on their ass if they didn't back the Administration. It wasn't that they were so stupid as to believe anything this Administration had to say. They were still trembling from 1994 when they really got their asses handed to them. They felt the mood of the country was completely on the Administration's side. They voted for the IWR out of cowardice and not because they believed it was the right thing to do or that the Administration was in any way correct. They need to have this hung around their neck. It was a betrayal of their beliefs if they in fact have any beliefs other than how to get re-elected...
