Did Alec Baldwin threaten to kill Henry Hyde?
A knuckle dragger on another forum say that Alec said:
"We would stone him to death! We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and wed kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH!"

WTF?

1. No, a threat is "we will..." not "we would..."

2. Baldwin is yet another diversion
so the media doesn't cover real news like Iraq, nukes on Russia's borders, Gonzales, corruption and scandals. So i really don't give two shits what Alec Baldwin says, but I did want to get that off my chest.

4. What's the context?
It was probably something like "If we based all of our laws on the Bible, we would stone him to death!" (for adultery), if he even said it at all.

8. Context AND source.
As noted in post #6 below, there is a transcript from Media Research Center, which is a RW media 'watchdog', meaning they comment on how terrible it was while completely ignoring the context. That context being, as shown in the transcript, that 'IF WE WERE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY we would..." He is in no way advocating violence, but rather, commenting on how other people in other countris might treat politicians who make unfounded charges against popular leaders.

There is absolutely nothing to this.

5. You mean Henry "youthful indiscretion" Hyde? The adulterer?
Yup, Leviticus would recommend stoning him to death.

7. The actual quote and context
Considering that Conan pulled out a respirator for Alec, it looks like a set-up.

Here's what happened according to the RW site Media Research

On the December 11 NBC show host Conan OBrien wrapped up his interview with Baldwin by asking Baldwin about Clintons plight. Baldwin answers but as he proceeds his voice rises as he jumps up from his chair and is screaming and flailing his arms by the time hes finished. Cutting to the punch line, OBrien then jumps up and puts an air mask over Baldwins mouth to calm him down. Funny political satire or, even if meant in jest, mean-spirited and violence-inciting words that would be condemned if uttered by a conservative?

Heres the exchange as transcribed by MRC news analyst Paul Smith.

Conan OBrien: "Before we leave, I gotta ask you. Its no secret that you are very political. You are a very political person. Its no secret that you have actually had some associations with the Clintons. That youre a liberal man and I thought you know today, this is a historic day and youre one of the most politically active actors out there. What do you think?"

Alec Baldwin: "I was in Africa. I go to Africa. I mean ladies and gentlemen I am in Africa. For three months I am in the bush and I come back. I come back here and I come back to what? I mean what is happening right now as we speak? Right now the Judiciary Committee, the President has an approval rating of 68 percent. The President is very popular and things are going pretty good and they are voting to impeach the President. They voted on one article of impeachment already. And I come back from Africa to stained dresses and cigars and this and impeachment. I am thinking to myself in other countries they are laughing at us twenty four hours a day and Im thinking to myself if we were in other countries, we would all right now, all of us together, all of us together would go down to Washington and we would stone Henry Hyde to death! We would stone him to death! Wait! Shut up! Shut up! No shut up! Im not finished. We would stone Henry Hyde to death and we would go to their homes and wed kill their wives and their children. We would kill their families. What is happening in this country? What is happening? UGHHH UGHHH!!!!"

11. Hey, the VT tragedy must be over...
the MSM has now turned full time to playing the Baldwin rant against his ex-wife and daughter. The guy has a short fuse, but so far he hasn't gone after anybody with a Glock. I wonder what else is going on in the world. Is McCain still going shopping in Baghdad - or is he preparing to bomb Iran? Inquiring minds want to know.
