Anyone else turning off the TV? I want to watch some of the VT coverage but I can't stand the
glorification of Bush's fake compassion. His politicising of this tragedy to bolster his approval is appalling. Sation after station is all Bush all the time. This isn't about the bastard, it should be about the victims.Sigh.Another event I can only cover by internet!

16. Thank God
and SVU (which is what I'm watching) doesn't have Fred Thompson as the DA.

5. Did you guys watch daily show last night?
I liked how Jon handled it. Said just a line or two then went onto other stuff. My tv is off to. Won't turn it on till Keith comes on and if he does another night of it will turn him off too. VT overload.

6. Watching Amy Goodman's interview with Chomsky and Zinn.
It is so refreshing to hear people that actually think talk about issues.

7. Not sure how you
can watch TV coverage of anything. It's always horrible and self-serving.

9. I have had mine off since I heard of the shooting
one the way home from work yesterday on NPR. With all respect to the victim's and their families, I had no doubt as to how the coverage would be playing out, endless interviews split between talking heads, a few witnesses and each other. When I heard that the Esteemed Mr. Bush would be making his little jaunt to the campus. I knew that I could not watch any of it.

11. Yes. It is a tragedy that I would not be
watching. I know what I need to know about it and would absolutely not be able to stomach anyone spinning or pushing vicarious excitement on television.

14. Mine is!
I have the greatest sympathy for the families and friends of the murdered kids there at VT, but CNN et. al. are milking the story for all it is worth.

It has been non stop coverage from as many different angles as they can find, and IMHO, I see very little respect being shown to the victims of this debacle.

More like a windfall for the MSM, getting those great advertising dollars for this media circus they are presenting.

Maybe I AM over reacting, but I have seen almost no coverage of any other news in over two days now.

Now that my rant is out of the way, my thoughts and prayers go out to these young peoples families.

15. I've been watching The Weather Channel.
They have some good stuff going on with their 100 significant weather-related events. Now I have learned how ice-skates were invented, and how the earth lost it's sunlight in 1816, etc. :)

It's healthy sometimes to get away from all the depressing news.
