MO Ground "War" Thompson Vs. Romney

<snip> Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is, indeed, in town tonight for a fundraiser to boost his Republican bid for president.

The event begins at 5 p.m. at Hunter Farms, the estate of Stephen and Kimmy Brauer that is such a popular location for political gatherings. (Picturesque and private).

Sources say the ticket price ranges from $1,000-$2,300 a person. Click here to read GOP activist/blogger John Combest’s take on the event.

<snip > “Whether or not Romney drops by the NRA meeting, his blatant pandering highlights a broader pattern that has plagued the Romney campaign,'’ the DNC said in a statement.

Gov. Matt Blunt is slated to be there.

Bearden: 56 House members (plus him) back Thompson

About an hour ago, state Rep. Carl Bearden, R-St. Charles and the Speaker Pro Tem of the Missouri House, sent out an email announcing that 56 other House Republicans “have declared support for Fred Thompson’s potential presidential candidacy by signing the Missouri ‘Draft Thompson for President’ petition.”

That amounts to 63% of the House Republican members, he said.
