Because we need to elect MORE Dem lawmakers willing to back up our leaders in tough battles and stop electing Dems who join the RW attack machine.

And those Dem lawmakers who won't say ANYTHING are just as bad, because their silence IS complicity.

This is no time to be wishy-washy when the highest ranking Democrat in DC is being targeted with smears and lies.

4. "Independent" who caucuses with the Democrats Joe Lieberman has critized Pelosi's Syrian visit.
Edited on Sun Apr-08-07 02:42 PM by flpoljunkie
“I believe her visit to Syria was a mistake, that it was bad for the United States of America and good for the Syrians,” Lieberman said. “When Nancy Pelosi goes there, she sends a message of disunity, she legitimizes them.” - Joe Lieberman today on CNN's Late Edition

13. 2 Dem pundits on news shows - Rosen and Mark Shields who must be echoing
the sentiments of the Dem lawmakers they hang with.

But, as I said in the post - those who WON'T come forward to speak FOR Pelosi and against what the WH is doing are allowing the GOP and corpmedia to get away with their spin - - yet again. Silence is complicity when the topranking Dem is under such pointed attack.

11. What salin asked.
I don't really count Lieberman as Democrat, mainly because he isn't.

15. Why, that's a whole different issue..
It's not a case of Harry Reid being undercut by Democrats, but rather, Democrats being undercut by Harry Reid and then getting called on it.

6. I'm for pointing this out, especially as it's working its way to the op-ed
Column in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

This blew me away, totally. seeing 2 letters (one pro, one con,)the the editor today and both under the heading, "Pelosi and others seem to enjoy making Bush look bad". I have to wait 3 more months until I can submit a response. Meanwhile, I see precious FEW defending Pelosi's actions.

Jesus, this stuff pisses me off.

Don't most papers have a policy of once a month max?

Find someone to send it in for you under their name.

9. not when it's bottom-up...
If a group of people want to put together a list of politicians to work against, for whatever reason, what's the problem? If it were Nancy Pelosi's office putting together the list, certainly it would be Nixonian, since that would be an abuse of power, but when it's the people, it's just keeping track of what politicians serve the Democratic voters the best.

Wes Clark praised Pelosi very highly for this in front of about a thousand people in CA this week.

16. That's EXACTLY what all Dems need to do - step UP and stand WITH Dems under attack
Clark usually always stands up for those unfairly attack. He's a Dem you can count on when the smears are flying.

Here's a Dkos post from Kerry on the smearing of Pelosi.

17. Here's a link to thread about Richardson supporting Pelosi
(LINK)

MANCHESTER, N.H. -- The White House criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's trip to Syria, but New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson defended the visit.

Pelosi met with Syrian officials on Wednesday. Democrats like Pelosi have argued for the Bush Administration to talk with Syria and Iran to see if it is possible to involve them in stopping violence in Iraq.

"The White House is not pleased, but we should be talking to Syria," said Richardson, who has negotiated with several countries. "My view is that you negotiate in a very tough way with Syria.

"She’s the Speaker of the House and she is making a statement. She is not saying anything that in my view is contrary to American foreign policy. She’s supportive of Israel. She knows Syria is a problem. Syria hearing our concerns directly instead of through the news media is much more effective," he said.

18. Hoyer and Emmanuel
I'm not sure that they "stabbed her in the back" but they sure have worked against her and Murtha and done their best to keep the war going. Hoyer does it because he's from Maryland and there is a lot of Military-Industrial-Complex money there, Emmanuel I don't know about.
