The cancer on the presidency has metastasized and spread to....
the Justice Department among other places. I just heard the Watergate quote again and though it needed to be updated.

7. LOL Did you know that squamous cell skin cancer can also be fatal,
Edited on Fri Apr-06-07 07:41 PM by DemBones DemBones
after metastasis? I just learned that recently so am throwing in it as a PSA.

WEAR SUNSCREEN AND A HAT WHENEVER YOU GO OUTSIDE IN DAYTIME -- EVEN IF YOU ARE DARK-SKINNED. THE SUN IS DANGEROUS TO YOUR HEALTH WHEN YOU ARE OUTSIDE, AND BASKING IN THE SUN IS PARTICULARLY UNWISE.

Just like basking in the Dim Son!   Best laugh this week!

Inspired by my fellow DUers below, I felt compelled to add something funny so how about "People in the administration are getting a squamous feeling about cells these days, due to their exposure to the DIm Son."

(It's a pun on "squeamish" if your mind is on slow right now. Mine is just slowly speeding up after waking up from a nap, and this thread is just the ticket for some Friday night fun. )

2. It has spread to the Bush Administration colon, apparently--and it's BLOCKED, to boot.
Which explains why this Administration is not only cancerous, but full of shit as well.

4. Excellent update on the Watergate-era quote!

Be prepared, though, for someone to flame you for saying such an insensitive thing considering Elizabeth Edwards's cancer recurrence.

I think Elizabeth Edwards herself would like your analogy, being a straightforward person with a sense of humour, and a Democrat old enough to remember Nixon all too well.

I doubt the word "metastasis" is her favorite word, but she has accepted that her cancer has metastasized with courage and is taking steps against the cancer, just as we in this country need to urge our members of Congress to take steps against the cancer on the presidency which seems to have metastasized to other areas of government, such as the DOJ.

I truly hope that this doesn't turn into a flame war about using a medical term. We'll see soon enough. :hippie:

23. I love it! It appears with some of them that you can wear it so

the design is on the back and the front looks like a plain black v-neck t shirt. meaning, of course, that you could wear it with the design on back and a shirt or light jacket over that and no one would ever know about the design unless you wanted them to.

so it could just be a good addition to a woman's wardrobe as well as something to wear as a protest statement. living in a red state, i wouldn't wear it just anywhere with the design showing but would love wearing it subversively!

so, are these shirts good quality "heavy enough to hold up but not so heavy as to be hot" cotton?

do they SHRINK when washed?

and does your business name mean that your house is a very, very fine place? :hippie:

25. The design, as currently configured,
is on the front by default, but yes, I suppose with some shirts you could turn them around and thus be more subtle. As to quality, CafePress is recognized in the business as providing a good product. Personally, I think that all T-shirts shrink in the dryer, but the ones I've gotten from CafePress seem to rebound well. I just order the size I know I wear, and they always seem to fit just fine even after washing.

As for my house, I guess it's pretty typical - for a single guy. A woman friend once remarked that it could, as she put it, "use a woman's touch." I've been told I'm not much of a housekeeper. I suppose that's true. I think when and if my budget ever allows I'll contract with a maid service. :-)

14. And yet our "gutless wonder' representatives do not have the spine to IMPEACH.
The American People are begging Congress to do their damn jobs so the offspring of these Fascists don't rise up in another thirty years for our children.

But NO! They care more about their careers than The Will of The American People.

Dumb a**es would win Congress in 2008 overwhelmingly if they would ONLY start Impeachment Proceedings ... they don't even have to win, just AIR the crimes for the American People to see! ... however, if they cower and shirk their responsibilities ... DAMN THEM! :grr:

22. I will say this again
we do not have the 67 votes to convict in the Senate. What is more, Watergate also started as a series of investigations and they did not have the 67 votes either.

Those votes, as the elections get near, may still materialize, but don't let that political reality come up.

As is, they have done far more so far... and you need to keep pressing them...

24. all true. i just wish pelosi had not said

impeachment is 'off the table.' that's not a statement that should be made by any politician at any time, imo, especially by any speaker of the house. it will make it very difficult for us if things change so that both compelling evidence and the votes are available.

congress has a duty to impeach when circumstances call for it, so i feel that she's saying they won't do their duty on her watch, no matter what happens.

i can't figure out why she said it, knowing that impeachment proceedings must start in the house when called for, and that as speaker she's accountable to the public as well as the party.

do you have any insight into why she said it? she's intelligent and politically savvy, even grew up in a political family. i've tried to see what the upside of it could be. it quieted rpub critics, sure, but she could have finessed all questions with a refusal to say definitively whether impeachment would or would not ever be considered. is there something i'm not seeing?
