Hootie and the Blowfish endorse Edwards
http://www.johnedwards2004.com/page.asp?id=477

<snip>

"We are pleased to announce our endorsement of the candidacy of South Carolina born Senator John Edwards for the Presidency of the United States. We do so individually and collectively as HOOTIE AND THE BLOWFISH.

"We believe John Edwards represents everything that is great about America. A first generation college student, born in a small mill town, who went to public schools, public colleges and with hard work has become the epitome of the American success story. Even with his great success, he has never forgotten where he came from."

5. Lieberman: No warning call from Hootie before Edwards endorsement
Lieberman just said he has listened to some music by Hootie and therefore deserved a warning call before they endorsed John Edwards. Lieberman said people are outraged as a result of the slight by Hootie and his fundraising has quadrupled in the moments since the endorsement was made.

6. It's true about his fundraising...
Since Hootie's announcement, Lieberman has raised 4 whole dollars. So it's true that his fundraising has quadrupled.

7. I'm not sure this is a plus
for Edwards.

And if it means we have to hear them on the radio, it's certainly not a plus for us! :puke:

10. Hootie AND Ashton Kutcher
Well, it's all over but the crying, then. Obviously Edwards has it wrapped.

Play that Hootie REAL LOUD on the U of Iowa campus. They'll love it.

15. I'm glad that these popular performers are DEMS...
Edited on Sat Dec-27-03 04:29 PM by Dr Fate
A lot of 27-35 year olds (I'm guessing on this demographic) like Hootie- they had some big hits in the 90's and they still draw big crowds in the South...

If he can get one or two former frat-boys to consider Democrats, then good for Hootie!!!

Edwards, BTW is a great candidate, and I would gladly support him if nominated...

18. Edwards vows to not release any records (sic)
related to the Hootie and The Blowfish endorsement negotiations. Especially those regarding the true meaning of the bands name.

Sorry. Couldn't resist. lol.

Congrats to Edwards. Don't know if it will help, but I doubt it will hurt.

I'm waiting for the Charles Barkley endorsement, myself.

20. This just in... The Pet Shop Boys endorse Clark...

East end boys and West end girls unite to celebrate.

News still pending on the potential Men Without Hats endorsement for Lieberman... and the controversial new Tupac and Bigie remix single supporting Sharpton.

22. Yes they do, but I would wager that they have given more time and money...
to the Democratic party than just about anyone on this board. The music is lame, but they are longtime party activists.
