14. After the Kennedy's they passed a law saying no IMMEDIATE FAMILY
appointments to Cabinet positions. It'll never happen.

Thanks!

Nepotism usually ends up with poor results.

That would only hasten his demise, now. Maybe he'll try to make Bolton SecState and move Condi over to AG instead. After all, his hubris is pretty boundless.

I have a feeling the  smilie is going to get a lot of use in the coming months, along with the  smilie!

7. Not an option, thanks to the Republicans.
Say, thank you, far-seeing Republicans.

They hated Kennedy's appointment of Bobby to AG SO MUCH, they made it illegal for it to happen ever again.

15. Yep. I wonder how many time the Republiks will pull this kind of
shit, only to have it later come back and bite them in the ass, before they realize that whatever laws they ram through will remain long after the motivating circumstance is dimly remembered history?
:kick:

16. i thought this was an urban myth. Its not, but I'm not sure how we can blame the repubs
Edited on Wed Mar-21-07 04:50 PM by onenote
I thought that it was an urban myth that Congress had passed an antinepotism law applicable to the president, but apparently its true (5 USC 3110).

However, the posts here pin this on repubs (as in the repubs made it illegal). Not sure we can make that stick. The law was enacted in 1967, when the Democrats controlled the House by 60 votes (247-187) and the Senate by a 64-36 margin.

13. If Jeb doesn't have a law degree, the Bush Crime Family can probably
get Harvard to give him one just as they gave an MBA to Dubya.
