Poll question: How Many Of You Know A Reformed freeper?
Especially one who voted for the chimperor once, or (HORRORS!) twice! Many freepers might not admit it, but some might.

and he was a die-hard too. He is a true blue Dem right now, and seems depressed at time that he ever voted for *.

2. I am one of those.
Never was a fanatical, religious Republican (I have always been pro choice and pro gay rights), and still was in the other side for the reasons I have explained in the past.

People can wind up in the wrong side of history for a myriad of reasons, some of them related with preconceived notions about a political group and ulterior motives, like in my case would be the achievement of Puerto Rican statehood, something usually related with the Republican Party both in the island and here.

3. I know some formerly diehard republicans,

I know quite a few people who are really hardcore republicans, but have in the last few years become more or less politically adrift, not democrats by any means - but disgusted with the republicans.

Between the disaster that is W and "Uhh-nald" in California they see the party of Nixon as being defunct, and of the hardcore Nixonites (of which California still has many) they feel especially upset as Bush has gotten away clean with things far worse than what Nixon was impeached for.

But before trashing them, consider that many here demand nothing less than absolute solidarity behind whomever becomes the Democratic canidate. Many consider Hillary Clinton nothing less that a collaborator - but those here will still demand that she be supported unconditionally.

It was no different for them, they might have thought Bush was a joke, but were Republicans first.

4. Sorry, all the freepers I knew are still freepers.
It takes a peculiar brand of ignorance combined with the density of uranium to be a desert freeper.
