2. The professional speculators are saying they'll try hard to keep him because
there's no way anyone the bushies would want in that office could get confirmed.

4. how true. But think about it.
having the office empty could not be possibly worse than having Gonzo there.

3. I keep saying that he should stay, because...
we want him swinging in the wind and on the hotseat through all the hearings. We want him testifying as the current AG, not as fired trash. He's a lightning rod as long as he's in the job.

We want him to claim executive privilege, and we want the resulting fight to be a good one, and to lead to a smoking gun in the white House.

We don't want him to quit and have the White House forced to nominate a squeaky clean cop or judge everyone loves so they can spin it to claim credit for cleaning up their mess.

If he goes, it's not us that sent him packing but the White House, and then they have gained the offense and silenced our thunder.

5. More garlic, Stinky! And bring me a bigger stake, too!
Hate to say it, but I don't think even this fiasco is gonna get us rid of Frodo Gonzales. Which is a shame because I think I'd really enjoy watching Harriet Miers's confirmation hearing.
