Where'd the ownership society go?
From President's Remarks in Ask President Bush Event: "Policies over the next four years will be to encourage others to own their own home, to expand the home ownership in America. Right now the home-ownership rate is the highest ever. We want more people owning their own home."

I haven't heard anything about George Bush's Ownership Society in quite a while. Increasing home ownership was once one of the key tenents of his domestic policy, do you think that was in any way related to sub-prime mortgage lending? Why aren't progressives capitalizing more on this?

1. BushCo owns us all...that's what he meant.
They have all our money, they're still trying to get our Social Security, looks like they're about to get lots of our homes. It working out great for the 1%.

2. Home ownership rate is about to plummet...
and of course, it has everything to do with the sub-prime lending practices. Once again the Republicans have created a royal mess that the Democrats have to try and figure a way out of.
