Zell Miller: Don't abort babies -- we need to send them to Iraq!
http://rawstory.com/news/2007/Zell_Miller_Abortion_has_shrunk_our_0309.html

Zell Miller, the former Democratic Senator from Georgia who backed President George W. Bush in 2004 and spoke at the Republican National Convention, recently told an anti-abortion gathering that the "killing" of unborn babies was the cause of many of America's woes, including its military, social security, and immigration problems.

"How could this great land of plenty produce too few people in the last 30 years?" Miller asked. "Here is the brutal truth that no one dares to mention: We’re too few because too many of our babies have been killed."

Miller claimed that 45 million babies have been 'killed' since the Supreme Court decision on Roe v. Wade in 1973.

"If those 45 million children had lived, today they would be defending our country, they would be filling our jobs, they would be paying into Social Security," he asserted.

23. This is why I wished time machines were invented.
Then with the older little inconviences, we need to go into the portal well-armed so we can fend off the pussy patrols.

5. 3200 soldiers have also been killed...
if he wasn't pushing this war as well, there would be 3200 loving individuals alive who would have made a contribution to this great country of ours instead of being cut down in their prime so asswipes like him could keep spewing crap.

I really do wonder sometimes if any of those folks who have lost their lives may have invented the next 'microwave' or computer chip. Such a waste.

7. Well, the Millennials (born 1981-2001) outnumber the Baby boomers.
Edited on Fri Mar-09-07 06:07 PM by Pugee
We should have plenty paying into the system. Baby Boomers number 77 million, and Millennials 80 million.

He says that 45 million have been aborted since 73? That is over a million a year! The millennials had 4 million born a year and the previous generation X (1965-1980) had 59 million or not quite 4 million a year, that means that 20 percent of pregnancies were aborted!!

BTW- these figures come from a great article in the Missouri Retirement system newsletter. It is wondering where the panic is coming from in SS since so many young people are entering the workforce.

Also BTW- what jobs would they be filling? There certainly aren't any around here!

12. Yea theres just unfilled jobs everywhere..............
Please, show me where. Jobs don't go unfilled if fair pay is offered. Even here in the Raleigh boomtown, you need experience for everything. If there were jobs a plenty, You think they might fill them by training people.

14. Zell Miller was a good Democratic governor who

did a lot for education in Georgia. He tried to get the legislature to take the Confederate battle flag off the state flag. I can't remember anything bad he did as governor.

Zell helped Bill Clinton get elected. First of all, he introduced him to James Carville and Paul Begala, who had run his gubernatorial campaign. He gave a great speech at the convention nominating Clinton and helped Clinton win Georgia twice.

One hypothesis to explain his bizarre change in D.C. is that Democrats in D.C. treated him like a rube, making the kinds of comments you just made about Georgians.

The Republicans are not fools; they don't insult people who are in their party or people whom they wish to influence. They were nice to Zell.

Zell was not only governor of Georgia, he was a college professor, and a Marine. He is a proud man and if you insult him, he's through with you. He and James Carville were friends for twenty years or more but Carville insulted him and it ended the friendship. Carville has said this, he's just not admitted what he did to lose Zell's friendship.

Zell had retired from politics after his gubernatorial terms and only went to Washington because Democratic governor Roy Barnes asked him to fll out the term of Sen. Paul Coverdell, a Republican, when Coverdell died just months before he was up for re-election. Zell agreed to fill out the term and run for the seat in the fall but he said he only would serve one term.

Naturally, Georgians voted for Zell because he'd been a good governor. No one was more surprised by Zell's later behavior than those who lived in Georgia when he was governor.
