Attention all Wes Clark Democrats!!!

Wes Clark may have been downed by the media, but that does NOT mean his army just has to disband and go home! I am not asking anyone to campaign for anyone else, but I do propose we do this:

Wes Clark, during the course of his five-month campaign, built the BIGGEST grassroots army of ANY candidate in the field, hands down. I propose that we re-unite that army and rally it to the same cause we were committed to before: Beating George W. Bush. We don't have to work for any of the other candidates, what I propose we do is do exactly what Wes said we should do in his farewell speech:

Give 'em hell and NEVER retreat!!!

Wes is not backing down, he is not shutting up, and I suggest we do the same. Let's do EVERYTHING we possibly can to do these two things:

1.) Ensure that Wes Clark is the VP nominee. He HAS to be on the ticket SOMEWHERE for the Democrats to win in November, no questions asked.

2.) Give Bush Hell. And not just by campaigning in our own backyards. Let's get the army revived, rally it again to that one purpose, and push NOT in states friendly to the Democrats, but in the heart of Bush's support base. Raise money, campaign, run advocacy ads targetted at local and regional concerns and SHOW those people HOW Bush is hurting them. If we can give him hell in his own backyard, then the Democrats just might be able to win this one. We have to make that man SO HATED that even Al Sharpton could win a landslide against him!

And it is up to us. No one else will be able to do it. Get in touch with EVERY Clark online organization we possibly can and revive the army. And prepare for war. We fight for our country, and I say, for one, that we should NOT give up now, not just because we have lost a battle. We can STILL win this war.

And let's still do the meetup. We need to get together and discuss ideas and plans of action. This is a democracy. Let's take it back! It's what Wes would want.

Why can't we be a draft clark policies website 1) dedicated first to getting Clark on the ticket as VP. 2) raising money for action committees to make commercials against the shrub 3) traveling to areas and making calls to senate campaigns that need support in November. Wouldn't it be great to help get the Senate back? Clark's Army can do that and I bet that is one thing that Clark would be supportive of. What do you think? We need to advocate ourselves as a block

we get one that has Kerry and Clark on it. Jesus H. Christ, General Clark was drafted into running for the presidency. He reluctantly did so and threw his heart and soul into the mission 100%. He's not a smooth politician (which is why I adore him) so he made a few unfortunate slip-ups. Then the media sharks started smelling blood and attacked with a vengeance. Nevertheless, Clark is a pure and shining (4)star with marvelous 'national security' credentials and wide appeal to Democrats,Independents, plus moderate Repubs. If Kerry is the savy politician he seems to be, Clark is the obvious choice for his VP. The General hasn't ruled it out publicly, so I assume he's open to the position.

based on his merits. As I've said elsewhere, Kerry has a whole list of DNC/DLC regulars to go through before he even gets close to Clark's name as a VP possibility or a cabinet member.

That is just political reality, and Kerry is just another politician.

If you want to see Clark stay in the game, even peripherally, you should consider staying involved by joining the collective mentioned above or something similar.

There is a hard core Hard Corps of Clark supporters who back the man and his message, as opposed to ABBers who backed him as the best alternative to Bush (I mean Pro-Clark as opposed to just Anti-Bush). If that group can mobilise at some level behind a national coalition it will create a reason for politicians and the newsmedia to continue paying attention to what Wes has to say. Failing that he is already yesterday's news.

I can't keep up with the Clark threads any better now than I could when he was still running!

I've just posted in GD2004 that I'm hosting a Clark House Party on the 21st, and I hope that others will do so, as well.

I'll run to the link posted above and join in - you're right, we CAN have an impact in what is to happen to our country - we just need to keep working as hard as we have been since the Draft began!
