Edwards gets backing from former Vilsack supporters
Edwards gets backing from former Vilsack supporters
Tuesday, March 6, 2007
Associated Press

----
Former North Carolina Sen. John Edwards has enlisted the backing of more than 100 Democratic activists who had been supporting former Gov. Tom Vilsack's bid for the party's presidential nomination.
The list includes state Rep. Kurt Swaim, D-Bloomfield, and United Steelworkers Union leader John Campbell, along with local party officials from throughout the state.
"John Edwards is a good friend to Iowa," Swaim said. "He knows the people of Iowa and the issues that are important to us."
Edwards scored a surprising second place showing in Iowa's leadoff precinct caucuses in 2004, propelling him onto the ticket with nominee John Kerry.
Vilsack announced his decision to seek the nomination in November, but dropped from the race last month, citing an inability to match fundraising capacity of major rivals.

1. Good! I want Edwards in this primary race for the long haul.
It is between him & Obama for me-I'm still undecided.

I have his back either way-you may note that I defend him from the assinine charges here every chance I get.

I think both Obama & Eddie are terrific.

5. It's funny the way you refer to
him as "Eddie".

I like Edwards, too, except for that sabre rattling on Iran along with bush, rice, hill, et al.

4. Edwards and Obama will wind up on top
One way or the other... John has been very smart, avoiding the unnecessary media attention and focusing on the folks.
