I finally found something Bush beats Clinton at!
In 1993 the White House website looked like shit.

http://clinton1.nara.gov/White_House/html/White_House_Home.html

The layout is utter crap--most pages don't even have tables, much less style sheets. Still, it's kinda bittersweet to browse thru those old Clinton White House webpages and see where we were 14 years ago... see how much we've lost in just 6 years.

2. The Clinton "Welcome to the White House" web site was the first time I had even heard of "the Web"
When they first put it up, AOL wasn't even connected to the "World Wide Web," so I don't think I even saw The White House website until at least 1994. Those look like the original pages, before it started looking like what we see these days.

I remember, I when to the White House website on January 20, 2001 during the first GWBush inauguration ceremony, to see if anything would change one he was officially "our pResident" and wasn't disappointed. I swear, almost to the second, after Rehnquist shook his hand, it was like someone threw a switch and "poof!":nuke: The Clinton website completely disappeared (after hitting the "refresh" button, that is.)

3. All dysfunctional families have the best pictures
And in these times, websites are used to mask the dank realities.

4. Web sites were not nearly as sophisticated in 1993
and they were a pain to code.

It's sadder that the only thing we've gained in just 6 years is better-looking White House Web pages.
