Bush, New Leaders in Congress Receive Low Ratings in New Poll
President Bush's approval ratings remain low, while the new leaders in Congress are also receiving negative marks for job performance, according to a recent poll by Harris Interactive.

The telephone poll, conducted Feb. 2-5, found that 32% of U.S. adults consider Mr. Bush's job performance "excellent" or "good," while 67% said his performance is only "fair" or "poor." These numbers are little changed from November 2006 when Mr. Bush's approval ratings were 31% positive and 67% negative.Graphic: Bush in the pollsVice President Dick Cheney's job-performance hit an all-time low; 29% of U.S. adults surveyed gave him positive ratings and 67% rated him negatively.

1. a true testament
of our corrupt bankrupt democracy. Not ONE of our elected officials has national approval over 50%. That is absolutely pathetic. If we had a real participatory democracy both parties would be thrown out on their asses.

3. It'll take a long time, probably many months,
to see a major change in those congressional approval ratings. No matter what the Dems do, they won't shoot up overnight, or even over a few weeks.

2. Pure Harris/Wall Street Journal bullshit.
While I'm hardly a fan of the Republican House and Senate leadership, in fairness I would guess hardly any of those participating in the poll could name either Mr.McConnell or Mr. Boehner, much less hold a meaningful opinion about them.

Such polls are worse than useless, they are misleading.

4. Polls are only as good as the question asked in said poll
ever notice poll questions are spun or twisted so a person answering the poll could end up saying he hated the boy shrub but agreed with boy shrubs policies.

Edited on Fri Feb-09-07 12:03 PM by Dracos
and I use the word newspaper lightly we all know they are media whores, but I still find the polls interesting. If you are correct and repukes only call repukes then chimpy is losing his base but I doubt if that is true most follow him blindly. As for the Dems in congress they need to get a backbone
and stand up to the repukes I can't be the only one who feels that way.
