Bush is going to finish his term with NO IMPEACHMENT AT ALL on his record.
With the asshole Republicans still able to mess up the Senate, there's no way an impeachment would go through. Bush is going to go down in history as fulfilling two complete terms without any major obstacles.

He'll give lots of fodder to Congressional Law professors but other than that there will be no major official stain on his record.

Nixon will always be reviled because of the impeachement. Clinton will be on record as having been impeached.
Bush and Cheney, nope. Clean bill of health.

Sure back in the 00's a lot of people complained and he started the stupid Iraq war fiasco, but he was never impeached so he couldn't have been THAT bad, could he?

Really makes ya grind yer teeth at the thought, but probably nothing anyone can do.

We just sit it out until he makes his triumphant exit from the presidency and then shows up periodically with his dad at political photo op thingys.

Hell, they'll even have to keep the stupid robot of him at Disneyworld running.

1. History will not judge him well, impeachment or no.
This man may have very well brought WWIII unto the world. He will go down in history with the likes of Hitler and Stalin, I'm sure of that. At least I need to believe that.

Words cannot describe how much I hate that man.

21. Without a legal record, * and his minions can write his history as they wish
The purpose of a trial is to lock down the evidence and testimony so history doesn't become a game of "he said - she said." This administration is great at scrubbing *'s records; the DUI that popped up at the last moment in 2000 was an aberration.

He's young enough that a couple of generations will be born before he croaks. This means they will believe him to be who he presents himself to be -- a friendly, regular guy. And as Rove knows, it's the image that's more important than the facts.

What's sad is those who follow will believe this is what America is, and not what we know it was before the radicals took over and ended the American Experiment.

2. W will always be known as the pres who wasn't
He lost to Gore in 2000, and 2004 was questionable. He was a frat boy and corporatist. Hopefully, he will be on trial for war violations.

W will never be honored.

3. Well a historical quibble first...
Nixon wasn't impeached...he resigned...

Bush will go down as perhaps the worst President in American history...

Bill Clinton's impeachment will be remembered for its political nature, not as a commentary on Clinton I predict...and in fact may become a case study for the illegitimate use of the impeachment power...

4. Ah yes. The threat of impeachment incited his resignation.
But he was never impeached. You're right.

5. Few in Congress have the Cajones to pursue Impeachment
And that is a trajedy. How again, did the US Congress suspend Habeaus Corpus and throw out over 800(or was it 900) years of jurisprudence in the name of Bushs war on terror?
It is sad. Not because I detest the man, not because he is a war-monger and a liar and a bungling idiot, but for the mere fact that he and his cabal have so violated the Constitution and caused so much suffering.

6. they can't get away....
It's only just February.
Our congress is just warming up.
Have patience.
The pursuit of Pig Nixon took many months.
The Neo Swine have taken defensive measures, so they may resist longer.
Their guilt is already a fact.
They're going into the bin.
It's just a matter of time.
That said, we need to keep the pressure up to roast these pigs before they get much fatter.

9. I agree
don't give up hope... he deserves to be out of the WH. And regardless if he finishes or not, he will be remembered as a horrible and vile President who divided people unlike any other and slaughtered thousands of Iraqis by approving mass bombings that often accidentally killed civilians and still do.

10. But the GOP tried to impeach Clinton
while their own, Bush, attacked Iraq for oil, laying open the devestation of the people of Iraq.

11. And Fitz is keeping their feet to the fire with his investigation!
Every day more and more evidence appears that the leak goes all the way to Cheney and *. Repukes are eating their own all over the place. We certainly are living in interesting times, and it's only gonna get better. If * doesn't get impeached, he will be severely tarnished by this investigation (even more so that he already is). I have to believe that.

Pass the butter!

7. He will be caught and he will be humilated....
Somehow, Someway...
The truth will be revealed.
It will be proved that MIHOP or LIHOP is fact.
It will be proved that one or both elections were stolen.
He will go down as THE single worst President in the history of our once great country OR...
He will be looked upon as a criminal and a fraud and responsible for the deaths of a multitude of innocents.

Both sound just fine to me.
I just wish it would happen next week instead of years down the road.

thumb his nose at Congress (again!) and we all better hope that he actually finishes his term and doesn't declare himself Emperor for Life.

16. It makes no sense to me
If I were a republican in congress I would know that my party will be out in the next elections and probably myself if I did not do anything about B((H. They have nothing to gain by hanging with him. I don't understand it.

17. Nope, impeachment doesn't mean jack shit anymore without conviction
If we impeach Bush without conviction it will just go down in the history books as the Democrats getting revenge for Clinton in an era of great polarization.

The GOP made it so that impeachment had no meaning whatsoever when they did it to Clinton.

20. Congratulations! Welcome to reality. Sure does suck in this case.
But you are one up on the ones who live in fantasy land who believe that just because they want something badly enough that it has to happen. Not everybody gets what they deserve--that's life.
Undoubtedly and unfortunately, Bush will finish his term no matter how history may judge him. Democrats would do well to keep doing what they are doing--hammering away at Bushco.

23. My greatest fear is
that Bush, Chaney, Rice, Rove, Rumsfel and others as well as those in the congress and the senate will get away with all the lies, deceit, deaths, greediness and the selling out of America.

They will walk away from all this mess with their pockets full of the bounty they've collected for eight years. They will grow old sitting on their fat asses laughing at every American as they thumb their noses at us all.

When we can't call on our Police, city counsel, congressmen and women and above all the President, then we the people must take matters in our own hands, and I don't mean being nice. We have to turn this mess around ourselves "BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY". These people shou;d be tried for TREASON and jailed for the despicable
acts they've created in the WORLD!!!
